Week 2 in Fair Isle : This week has been all about thinking of the future and how to grow my business. It can’t just be me, and I’d love to find a business partner with most of the skills I don’t have! The @kingsfoundation 35under35 team hosted a networking event today by with @samuelross and it was an amazing conversation with so many valuable pieces of advice. I’m so grateful for the chance to learn from his experience as an entrepreneur, fashion designer, and artist. On another (but not unrelated) note, @ruthaisling’s video about her time in Fair Isle has been published on her YouTube channel! It’s been so nice to look back at @terrilaura and I first knitting holiday together through Ruth’s eyes and experience. Her videos usually focus on Scotland’s landscapes, whisky, or heritage, but seeing how many of her viewers loved her knitting adventure has been really heartwarming! There aren’t many spaces left for knitting holidays in 2026, so if you’ve been thinking about it for a while, don’t hesitate to reach out, we can chat and see if the adventure is for you! 2026.02.21 フェアアイルの技法で作ったスティークの始末、 今回はスウェーデンでと書いてしまったのですが、 ごめんなさい、「ノルウェー」の間違いでした。 の古本で見つけた方法を試してみました。 「Scandinavian motifs」という本です。 スティークの端から2列目と3列目の 半目ずつを引き抜き編みで編み止めていくだけ。 切りっぱなしでもほつれてこない 面白い方法です。 きれいに折り込んでまつり縫いで仕上げるのも好きですが、 これもなかなか良いですよ。 #スティーク #fairisle #fairisleknitting #手編み #フェアアイル
