If you're still unsure, consider the context: if you've recently traveled or slept in a new environment, it might be bed bugs. If you've been outdoors, especially near water or in warm weather, it's likely mosquito bites.

A patient came in with bites on their skin and found this 😱 What you should know about bed bugs: - Typically bite in 3 - “breakfast, lunch, and dinner” - The bites won’t show up right away - can take days to appear on the skin - Often affect only one family member in the house - Never put your belongings on the ground in a public space - hang them up if possible (hot tip from my ER rotations in inner-city hospitals) - Treat with a topical steroid to help relieve the itch - A skin biopsy won’t tell you what insect bit you, only that you have a bite #bedbugs #dermatology #dermatologist #bites

Monthly Flea Preventatives: • Oral (like NexGard, Simparica, or Bravecto) • Topical (like Frontline Plus, Advantage II, or Revolution) • These are the most effective and easy to stay consistent with. 2. Regular Grooming: • Bathe your dog with a flea-repellent shampoo every few weeks (especially if they go outside a lot). • Brush with a flea comb — it helps catch fleas early. 3.
