A patient came in with bites on their skin and found this 😱 What you should know about bed bugs: - Typically bite in 3 - “breakfast, lunch, and dinner” - The bites won’t show up right away - can take days to appear on the skin - Often affect only one family member in the house - Never put your belongings on the ground in a public space - hang them up if possible (hot tip from my ER rotations in inner-city hospitals) - Treat with a topical steroid to help relieve the itch - A skin biopsy won’t tell you what insect bit you, only that you have a bite #bedbugs #dermatology #dermatologist #bites
