When printing PLA with difficult overhangs, dense supports can leave scars. Here’s a cleaner solution: use PETG as the support material for PLA. This method works especially well for shallow overhangs where supports are unavoidable. 👇 Save this for your next multi-material print 👀 #Filament101 #3dprinting #3dprintingtips #filament #amolen

You can! Here are 3 things you can do to maximize your print size without ruining the quality! When you’re printing parts that consume the entire build plate, adhesion stops being a slicer checkbox and becomes a process-control problem. You’re fighting thermal gradients, shrinkage stress, and peel forces across a large moment arm. 1. “Engineered Brims” - Instead of just turning on the default 5-8mm brim, try increasing the first layer flow by 102-105% to help get that first layer ‘squish’. Take this a step further by adding additional brim layers or slowing down the first layer to 20 mm/s. 2. “Adhesive Assistance” - While the common glue stick is controversial in the 3D printing world, it is sometimes just the thing your prints need for that extra ‘stick’! This works great for PLA, but for other materials you may want to try hairspray, garolite, or magigoo. (Side Note: Glue sticks can also act as a release agent for especially sticky materials that are hard to remove from your build plate.) 3. “Thermal Management” - For full-bed prints, adhesion failure is often thermal, not mechanical. Turning up the build plate temperature 5-10 degrees can help ensure that the entire surface is properly heated. Using an enclosure or eliminating drafts can also help prevent the edges or corners from peeling up off the bed! #3dprinting #3dprint #engineering #3dprinter #bambulab
