🌊🌴 Attention Florida Families! Stay Safe at the Beach this Summer! Florida is home to some of the most beautiful beaches, but some also come with risks you should be aware of. Here are the top beaches in Florida known for their dangers: New Smyrna Beach 🦈 Known as the “Shark Bite Capital of the World,” New Smyrna Beach has the highest number of shark attacks in the U.S. Panama City Beach 🌪️ This beach is notorious for strong rip currents and large crowds, increasing the risk of drownings and injuries. Daytona Beach 🚗 While famous for its hard-packed sand that allows driving on the beach, this also leads to a higher number of vehicle-related accidents. Cocoa Beach 🦈🌊 Although none of the 26 recorded shark attacks have been fatal, the strong rip currents here are a significant hazard. Ormond Beach 🌪️ Ranked sixth for its dangers, this beach also has strong rip currents and a history of shark encounters. Additional Dangerous Beaches: South Beach, Miami 🌊🌴 Known for its vibrant nightlife and heavy tourist presence, it also has strong currents and high crime rates. Pensacola Beach 🦐⚡ This beach has frequent jellyfish stings and strong rip currents, posing dangers to swimmers. Always stay informed about the local conditions, heed the warnings, and practice beach safety. Your safety is the priority! 🏖️💙 For more tips on beach safety, visit Florida Beach Safety. 📸Some material on this video credit: @delraydroneshots #miamithingstodo #miamibeach #miamifamily #thingtodomiami #miami #miamifamily #miamiweekend #miamikids #miamidade #sharks #sharksmiami #miamithingstodo #visitflorida #visitmiami

They show you paradise in the ads…but forget to mention the part where you’re jammed like sardines on a sliver of sand. You rent a sweet spot across the street, wander down to the “public” beach access—and bam, you’re in towel-to-towel territory while the rest of 30A sits wide open, guarded by empty ghost chairs.

💸 🚫 Top 5 DON’Ts When Visiting Destin, Florida 🏖️ Planning a trip to the Emerald Coast? You still interested? If you’re moving here expecting every day to feel like a postcard—perfect skies and slow sips of iced coffee on the porch… you might want to read the fine print. But if you feel me—and you’re ready for more sunshine, year-round outdoor living, and a slower pace that still keeps life exciting-Florida can feel like your own kind of magic. That said, here are 4 things to really think about before making the move: 1️⃣ It’s a Big State with Big Differences Northwest Florida doesn’t even feel like the rest of the state. We’re not theme parks and high rises…we’re small towns, bay breezes, and neighborhoods where people still wave when they pass you. Where you land matters—because every corner of Florida has a totally different vibe. 2️⃣ Florida Summers Are Not for the Weak Hot doesn’t even begin to cover it. It’s not just the heat—it’s the humidity that wraps around you like a blanket you didn’t ask for. You walk outside and boom—you’re in a full-on sauna. And yes, you’ll absolutely regret your outfit choice before you even get in the car. But if you love sunrise walks, pool days that melt into beach nights, and golden hour that makes you forget how chaotic the day was—you’ll find your rhythm. 3️⃣ Tourism Is Real—Even Up Here We don’t have theme parks in this part of the Panhandle, but from spring break through summer, it still gets busy. Traffic thickens, beaches fill up, and everything takes a little longer. Locals just learn the rhythm—when to go, where to go, and how to love their town even in the middle of the chaos. 4️⃣ Wildlife Is…Way More Than Gators You probably wouldn’t expect to share your neighborhood with bears—but welcome to Northwest Florida. Put out a hummingbird feeder and you’re basically inviting them over for dinner. We’ve also got foxes, coyotes, and yes—a bobcat that casually jogs through my yard like it owns the place. So no—Florida’s not for everyone. But if you’re ready for staycation-style living…weekends that start with beach bags and end with sunset views you’ll never get tired of-you might just be in the right spot. Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send you my Northwest Florida Relocation Guide. With info you need.

A peaceful Florida boardwalk… until it isn’t. In Florida, freshwater lakes, retention ponds, and marshes are natural alligator habitat. They don’t just stay deep in the Everglades. They cruise canals, neighborhood docks, and walking trails across the state. Living in Florida means understanding that wildlife is part of daily life. Alligators are powerful, territorial, and incredibly fast in short bursts. Situational awareness around water isn’t optional here. Sunshine, palm trees, and real wild Florida. #OnlyInFlorida #FloridaWildlife #Alligator #FloridaLife #StayAware

I was so wrong about Florida living…. When we lived in Washington, we honestly thought Florida was basically: Hurricanes, Alligators greeting you at the mailbox, Snakes, and heat so intense you’d melt walking to the car That’s the picture everyone paints for you, right? 😅 But then we moved to the Florida Panhandle… and realized none of those stereotypes fit where we actually live. And honestly people in Florida aren’t nearly as worried about these things as you. 😆 The Panhandle isn’t Miami. It’s not Orlando. It’s not the swampy, steamy postcard everyone imagines. The weather here surprised us — in the best way. We get seasons (yes, not snow seasons… but we do get cooler months). We get breezes off the Gulf. And somehow it feels way more comfortable than we ever expected. And the cold… well we are in hoodies and boots when temp drops below 70… you adapt fast :) Meanwhile, instead of dodging gators, our girls are riding bikes at sunset. Instead of hiding indoors from frigid temps like we did in Washington half the year, we’re outside together almost every day. Even when it does get hot, we live by the gulf and enjoy the sunsets and swimming in the turquoise waters. We discovered a slower, safer, family-first life along 30A that feels like childhood again. Yes, hurricanes can come and if they do, we will prepare. Yes, the wildlife exists—but it mostly minds its own business. And honestly bears were the shocking part to us, they are more the problem than gators 🤣 But the biggest shock was realizing how peaceful and livable the Panhandle truly is. We gained more than we ever risked. If you’re craving sunshine, community, and a childhood your kids don’t have to grow out of—this might be exactly what your family needs. Comment 30A and I’ll send you the neighborhoods local families actually choose (not the tourist ones).
