Details of this release: 28 x 35 inch // 71cm x 89cm (limited edition of 65), available until sold out This is the same size as the original artwork and is hand-embossed. 16 x 20 inch // 41cm x 51cm (open edition), ends May 4th We began collecting herbs back in 2023 and 3 years later, are very happy to have it out in the world. Herbs are pretty amazing for so many reasons. They not only taste delicious, but are used for healing as well as a super amazing natural bug repellent for bad insects so they stay out of your flowers and veggies and don’t nest in them. Love the herbs. Fun fact: I really liked listening to Enya back in high school. 🌷Spring refresh - dyeing my table cloth with flowers and leaves 🌱 I tried the flower pounding method 🔨 for the first time with some flowers I collected 🦋 after treating my table cloth with a mordant. Mordanting is important when you’re doing natural dye projects to ensure the colors from your plants will seep into the fabric. Next time I’ll get flowers that’ll leave a strong imprint of the whole flower but was cute experimenting with petals, leaves and flowers to see what they looked like! Once my table cloth was dry and ready I placed random flowers around the center for a statement piece on the table cloth and hammered them in using different pressures to see how each plant worked best. Принт из живых цветов🤗🌸🌺 Давно хотела попробовать сделать принт из цветов на одежде. Для того, чтобы натуральный пигмент не стирался с одежды, нужно ее подготовить. Этот процесс называется Мордансирование🙌🏻 1. Для подобных принтов нужно выбирать одежду из натуральных материалов- хлопок, лен, шелк, шерсть. Натуральные красители плохо закрепляются на синтетике (полиэстер, нейлон). 2. Нужно выстирать ткань в горячей воде с содой, чтобы смыть фабричные примеси. 3. Предварительная обработка ткани раствором солей металлов (протрав- сульфат меди, или сульфат железа, или танин). Эти металлы образуют нерастворимые комплексы с красителями и "пришивают" их к волокну. При соблюдении этих пунктов, принт не стирается🙌🏻 Еще один момент- рекомендую между слоями одежды проложить бумагу, так как после постукивания пигмент может остаться на втором слое ткани. PS: Ну или если не хочется заморачиваться с предварительной обработкой. Можете попробовать на старых футболках 😁

I just can’t stop making these flower prints. They are so much fun to make and they are getting better I think. In this print Chrysanthemums were turned into Daisies 😂 but I love the end result. The details and colors worked out so well! I might frame this one! 🖼️🌼 * For this print I used my 8”x10” @gelliarts gel printing plate and @araacrylics * I added a few drops of slow dry medium (Ara) in the first layer * I let every layer dry before adding a new layer * The paper is 300gr Bristol * I left the paper on the plate until everything was completely dry * I turned the whole package over and peeled the plate from the paper instead of the paper from the plate to keep it flat and avoid folds/wrinkles Thanks so much for stopping by! Printing with September Flowers 🌸✨ Flower printed clothes that double as a garden journal - a commemoration of a late summer garden. 🌼 This @indigoluna.store set was a joy to print!🌿✨ Before being dyed, the set was heated with detergent and an alkaline buffer to remove any waxes, sizing, oils, and anything else they may impede the uptake of mordant and dye. This process is called scouring and is crucial to achieving good results with natural dyes. 🌿 After scouring, the set was soaked in aluminum acetate and ferrous sulfate mordants. Aluminum mordants tend to grab onto the bright colors from plants, whereas iron has a strong reaction to the tannin and plants and will deepen and sadden the dye colors. Iron also acts as a stabilizer so if your prints are blurry or inconsistent, I highly recommend adding iron to your pretreatment process. 💫 After pretreatment, the individual pieces were rolled and bundled with flowers then steamed for 25 minutes to transfer the color from flower to fiber. ⚡️ Thanks to @kayla.powers for the inspiration to step outside or my orange comfort zone and give pink flowers a try! 🌸✨ She began printing with pink cosmos years ago and was the first I ever saw do so! 💗 I’ll share some of her beautiful work in my stories today.
