My small apartment has become a sanctuary for countless rescue cats over the years and while I cherish every moment caring for these beautiful babies, it has sadly come to a point where I can’t take in any more as there is no physical space. Finding foster carers during emergencies has become increasingly challenging which adds more pressure and I have cats in my bathroom and in all available corners across the apartment. Today, I share with you a dream close to my heart that is also a solution to this space restraint - a Cat Sanctuary. **FOSTERS NEEDED** Every day during kitten season this year, the shelter has received dozens of kittens, some of them just weeks or days old. Just this past Sunday, the shelter received 36 bottle baby kittens that needed foster placement the same day. This year we have taken in an unprecedented number of kittens, and that number keeps rising every day. Fortunately, healthy and sweet kittens do get adopted fairly quickly. But most litters that come in to the shelter are bottle baby litters, and their care is extremely labor intensive. While the shelter always needs adopters, during kitten season, what we need the most are willing fosters. With every kitten that gets adopted, three more come and take its place. During this time of year, it is an endless cycle. We’ve said it a million times, and we will continue to say it, fostering saves lives. And this is even more important during a busy kitten season. We are desperately seeking people with cat handling experience to foster bottle babies and litters of kittens with mamas. Training, food and any necessary medical supplies will be provided. Meet my scrunchy new foster kitty 💕 Sweet boy was brought into the shelter as a stray with an upper respiratory infection, a missing eye, and a lame front leg. We’re not entirely sure what’s going on, but we’re going to do everything to get him the help he needs. We have a vet appointment for him today where we’re hoping to get more answers!
