We are all stewards of the land It’s the understanding that the best we can do is reveal what was always there beneath the surface, uncovering the hidden potential of a site. A reinterpretation that appears “new” but pays homage to what came before. Filmed / Edited: @93rnm Written / Directed: yours truly

a tree never asked where it was going. it never feared being late. it never looked at another and thought— i should be taller by now. it simply stayed. and in staying, it outlived kings, wars, gods, and empires. it watched languages born and buried. it became a witness to everything, and a participant in nothing. you call it history. the tree calls it weather. we — the restless ones — run. we race clocks, chase futures, wear our urgency like armor. we build monuments as if stone could resist time, but from the tree’s eyes, we are only shadows flickering at dusk. you think movement is survival. but every time you were tired, you came back to me. to sit. to hide. to pray. to breathe. have you ever wondered why stillness terrifies you so much? what are you running from? what is it you think you’ll find at the end of all this speed? a tree grows by deepening, not by moving. it goes nowhere, yet becomes eternal. it adds a ring each year, not to prove progress, but to remember patience. what if you misunderstood time entirely? what if the future isn’t ahead of you, but already here waiting for you to stand still long enough to notice? the trees were never in a hurry. they had nothing to prove, and became the oldest beings on earth. so i ask you when was the last time you let silence grow inside you like bark around a wound? when was the last time you measured your worth not by distance, but by depth? when was the last time you stopped running long enough to realize you were already home? the trees were never in hurry. [trees, visual philosophy, esoteric indie, photojournalism, fyp, explore, stillness, time, patience, roots, growth, depth, observation, wisdom, reflection, introspection, nature, life lessons, mindfulness, inner peace, share, viral, save, liquorandlatinas] answer this for yourself - do you measure growth by movement or depth?

We are *incredibly* proud to introduce to the world GENERATION TRUST, a feature documentary made in just 7 months by two of our brilliant Director / DPs - @clariwetzel and @fannypropp . These two talented women did something extraordinary, not only logistically but creatively, weaving together 5 stories with nuance, complexity and joy. For our team The Process is everything: we want the people we film to have a great experience. They are gifting us their precious time, knowledge, and trust, and we do not take that lightly. That everyone comes away from the filming having had a positive experience is what WTYSL is all about. 💛 Documentary can be extractive, it can follow the same paradigm as the rest of our patriarchal systems, but it can also be DIFFERENT. It can be rooted in care, collaboration, and openness to whatever is alive in the moment. We hope you enjoy GENERATION TRUST - please let us know what you think! Isn’t it beautiful that trees nurture each other through their roots (go read ‘Finding The Mother Tree’!). That there is a whole world under the surface that we can’t see, but it’s abound with activity and life. Like roots, our lives are all entwined, through flotillas, climate, children, parents. The natural world a beautiful metaphor and important reminder of how we all affect one another. Roots Entwined / Track 2 (Photo with 🪈 @junction10.photography)

Sit with one Talk to one Plant one Climb one Hug one Soon you’ll find yourself in tree time and a language you never knew before The world will spin differently A little less hard and a little more kind A tree doesn’t differentiate between who can enjoy its shade on a hot summer day A thief, a samaritan, someone important or a nobody Nor does it choose when to flower and when not to It just does If there is a God Perhaps this is the language In tree time… One you can only hear with your heart on the roots - written one balmy afternoon 🌲 🌳

The trees were planted on a quiet morning when the sun had just begun to stretch across the field. The soil was stubborn, the wind restless, and the task seemed larger than the small team that stood there with spades and hope. There were farmers, students, a teacher, and a young boy who had never planted anything before. None of them were experts, but they shared a simple belief — that something small, done together, could grow into something meaningful. At first, the work was slow. Blisters formed. Sweat dripped. A few saplings leaned weakly in the earth. Yet with every tree planted, laughter grew louder and hands moved faster. They began to help one another without asking — one digging, another watering, another gently holding the fragile stem upright. By afternoon, rows of young trees stood across the once-barren land. They were not impressive yet. They were thin, uncertain, and vulnerable. But the team stood back and saw not what the trees were — but what they would become. Years later, those trees would offer shade to travelers, fruit to children, and shelter to birds. People would walk through that green stretch and call it a forest. But what truly grew that day was not just the trees. It was the team — rooted in shared effort, strengthened by purpose, and forever connected by the simple act of planting a future together.
