I used to think healthy eating meant cutting our foods I “shouldn’t” eat but actually that can often cause more harm and than good - leading to a restrictive diet, nutrient deficiencies and a poor relationship with food. If you shift your mindset to what you can add in - like more colour, more flavour, more plants, more protein - It’s a more positive way to think about healthy eating. ps. My current approach to nutrition is a combination of intuitively eating what I feel like while still using nutrition as a tool for performance and making conscious choices to ensure I’m eating enough, sustaining energy throughout the day and performing at training 🏃♀️🥑🥗 I personally structure my daily eating with 3x main meals, 2x snacks (+ dessert if I’m feeling it) and a pre-workout snack if I’m training that day. As always, this is just what works for me 🤷♀️ To avoid underfuelling I focus on the following: ⚡️ ALWAYS having a carb-rich snack before training, whether it’s in the AM or PM ⚡️ Balancing all my main meals with carbs, fats, protein and colour ⚡️ Giving myself permission to enjoy “soul foods” without restriction As women, we’re often made to feel like we need to eat less, become smaller, and take up less space.
