Despite their looks, they aren’t cats, but they ARE feliforms. Feliforms are a suborder of animals that are cat-like, which includes mongoose, hyenas, civets and cats. Genets are largely nocturnal predators, and although they’re mostly carnivores, they’ll occasionally eat plants. The small-spotted genet is not at risk of extinction but a few genet species are threatened by deforestation and overhunting. Misk kedileri (Viverridae), Afrika ile Güney ve Güneydoğu Asya'da yaşayan, civetler (misk kedileri), palm civetler (palmiye misk kedileri), genetler ve binturong (ayı kedisi) gibi türleri kapsayan, bir etçil memeli ailesidir. Bu ailede yaklaşık 14-15 cins ve 30-35 tür bulunur. Vücut uzunlukları 40-70 cm, kuyruk uzunlukları 30-60 cm, omuz yükseklikleri ise 15-30 cm civarındadır; bazı iri türlerde (örneğin binturong) bu ölçüler daha da artabilir. Their most notable features include a slender body, long tail, often spotted or striped fur, and the intensely fragrant secretion it releases from its scent glands; this secretion is used for territorial marking, communication, attracting mates, and defense, and has been processed into musk for use in perfumery throughout history. 🐺Wildlife Wildway Mini Zoo 🐺 We popped along at the weekend to visit @wwminizoo located in Cookham, next to @thefruitfields. The newly opened mini zoo is run by Irfan and Connor who happen to be Europe’s youngest zoo owners 🙌. We spent just over an hour there and were lucky enough to see the lemur feeding and wolf dog talk as well as meet Spidey 🕸️! The talks definitely added to the visit and the owners were able to tell us more about the animals and for us to ask questions. The lemurs were my favourite and very excitable getting fed! 🐾 They have some animals that you have probably not heard of before like genets!! They also have Pygmy goats, lemeurs, wolf dogs, a caracal, meerkats, ferrets, owls, birds and hares 🐁🦜🐐🐺🦉. The owners and staff are extremely friendly, this for us was the selling point. I talked to Connor for a while and you could see how passionate he was about the mini zoo and the great work they are doing 👏. They have meet and greets regularly with super hero’s and other characters so keep a look out 👀.They have just announced a Christmas special on 3rd Dec with opportunities to meet reindeer and the grinch! Ils sortent à l’aube, comme des songes posés sur les herbes. Les faons, minuscules gardiens de l’innocence, traversent les genêts en fleurs, ces torches jaunes que la montagne allume au printemps. Rien ne presse. Leur silence est un art. On dirait que la nature, lasse du vacarme des hommes, a confié aux bêtes la charge de nous rappeler la beauté du monde. Les genêts, eux, n’ont pas changé. Ils poussent comme des prières dans les interstices du temps. Le faon les frôle, léger, sans bruit, comme un vers d’Apollinaire qui aurait pris chair.
