Spain will be able to prevent Britons from entering Gibraltar under new post-Brexit plans published today. The UK, alongside the Government of Gibraltar, has today published a draft treaty with the EU that outlines the arrangements for a "fluid border" for people and goods.

The Gibraltar–Spain border is set to change this summer. 🇬🇮🇪🇸 The planned 10 April rollout has now shifted to 15 July 2026, with the EU confirming it expects to be ready by then. There will no longer be routine land border checks, with controls moving to Gibraltar’s airport and port. In practice, this should mean a more seamless crossing for the thousands of people who move between Gibraltar and Spain each day. For UK arrivals, this means Schengen-style entry rules, including biometrics, updated passport requirements and a shared 90-day limit. While Gibraltar will not formally join Schengen, the way the border operates is evolving. #SpainNews #GibraltarNews #UKNews #GibraltarTreaty #BorderControl

This government ARE traitors. It can’t be denied any more. Not content with handing over the Chagos islands they’ve now given the border control of Gibraltar to the Spanish and EU officials. Why? If you land at the airport or port, BRITISH territory, your entry and passport will now be checked and controlled by EU officials. It’s treachery. #Gibraltar #gibraltese #eu #spain #bordercontrol #traitors #treachery #davidlammy #keirstarmer vm.tiktok.com/ZNdADq6H1/

Burn your bridges! Highly recommend to check international cruise berth times before you go to Gibraltar — we happened to get there right as an enormous cruise ship dock with thousands of passengers all jamming up every tourist activity. Pretty lame, but a learning experience for sure.. Tons more videos (5 per week) coming out this year, follow along! As always, drop a comment if I missed anything interesting in the area! I’m a generalist—I love learning a little about everything—so I might miss some of the deeper details. Let me know if I got anything wrong👍 #spain #andalusia #andalucia #gibraltar

The real Gibraltar challenge: pick a queue & pray it’s the fast one 😂😭 Every time you leave (to go into Spain) or come back, you have to go through passport control, even just to cross the border for a few minutes! Leaving or entering, there’s always a line waiting for you 🥲 #gibraltarlife #gibraltarguide #travelgibraltar #spaintravels #travelspain #travelspain🇪🇸 #gibraltar🇬🇮 #gibraltar

So.. how crazy is this? You can walk from Spain to the UK in less than 10 minutes including doing passport control! Well that’s what you have to do when walking from La Línea de la Concepción to Gibraltar 🇬🇮🇬🇧. Whilst being a 2 and a half hour flight away from Uk mainland - Gibraltar is a British overseas territory and yes, Gibraltarians generally consider themselves to be British. Technically Dylan could move there indefinitely on his British passport but because it’s neither Uk mainland or EU, Adriana can ‘only’ stay 6 months as a tourist 🥲 we were seriously considering moving here - it’s such a nice place! Should Adriana apply for British residency (dual nationality) so we can enjoy the Gibraltar weather? 👀☀️ The tiny territory has so many things that make it very British including and m&s, Costa, card factory, Morrisons and many other quirky British shops 😂 we had an amazing afternoon tea and a night stay at @therockhotel although it was one hell of a walk up there 😅😅 #gibraltar #uk #travel

Did you know, In Gibraltar you can walk across the airport runway, which now doubles as a cycle lane and pedestrian walkway 👣🚲 Before the opening of the Kingsway Tunnel, it was the only airport in the world that intersected with a busy road🛫 #bicycle #runway #visitgibraltar

I had an amazing time in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, definitely recommend visiting. One of the most unique things about Gibraltar is its airport, known as one of the most dangerous in the world due to its short runway. To enter Gibraltar, you actually walk across the runway itself. With only a few flights each day, the crossing is briefly closed during takeoffs and landings, then reopened once the runway is clear. As for what to do while you are there, I recommend taking the cable car up to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar. The views from the top are stunning, you can see the entire city and even across to Africa on a clear day. From there, walk back down to explore various tourist spots along the way. Just a heads up, be careful around the monkeys at the top. I did not have any food on me, but one still jumped on me and ripped my t-shirt, funny now, but a bit of a surprise at the time. Here is a list of places I visited / activities I did in Gibraltar: - The Rock of Gibraltar - Skywalk - St. Michael’s Cave - Barbary Macaques - Suspension Bridge - The Great Siege Tunnels - Moorish Castle - Gibraltar Airport - Dolphin Safari ….. I will be travelling to all 196 countries, follow me for travel inspirations @mk96travels 🤍. . . . . . #gibraltar #gibraltarrock #visitgibraltar #british #europe #travel #travelsolo #traveleurope #travelreels #traveladventure

23/03/2026 New 'Gibraltar' Sign Unveiled by GTB at Campion Park The Gibraltar Tourist Board, on behalf of the Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, has today unveiled Gibraltar’s first official ‘Gibraltar’ sign at Campion Park. A statement continued: "The installation creates a new dedicated photo point for visitors and residents alike, designed to encourage the sharing of experiences and showcase Gibraltar as a vibrant and visually striking destination. "Complementing wider public enhancements across Gibraltar, including improvements to roundabouts and the introduction of heritage and cultural features, the ‘Gibraltar’ sign has been created as a dedicated photo opportunity for visitors and residents to stop, engage and capture their experience. It is the first installation of its kind, with further permanent signs to follow in key locations, including at the frontier once infrastructure works are complete. "A mobile ‘Gibraltar’ sign will also be launched this summer, travelling to events and high-footfall locations to provide further opportunities for the public to engage with the installation and capture memorable moments. "Members of the public are invited to visit the sign at Campion Park and tag Visit Gibraltar on social media. Minister for Tourism, Christian Santos, said: “This new Gibraltar sign is about creating moments that people want to capture and share. It’s a simple but impactful way of showcasing our destination through the eyes of those who experience it. As we continue to enhance our tourism offering, initiatives like this help bring Gibraltar’s identity to life in a modern and engaging way." #gibraltar #campionpark #gibraltarsign #holiday #touristboard
