23/03/2026 New 'Gibraltar' Sign Unveiled by GTB at Campion Park The Gibraltar Tourist Board, on behalf of the Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, has today unveiled Gibraltar’s first official ‘Gibraltar’ sign at Campion Park. A statement continued: "The installation creates a new dedicated photo point for visitors and residents alike, designed to encourage the sharing of experiences and showcase Gibraltar as a vibrant and visually striking destination. "Complementing wider public enhancements across Gibraltar, including improvements to roundabouts and the introduction of heritage and cultural features, the ‘Gibraltar’ sign has been created as a dedicated photo opportunity for visitors and residents to stop, engage and capture their experience. It is the first installation of its kind, with further permanent signs to follow in key locations, including at the frontier once infrastructure works are complete. "A mobile ‘Gibraltar’ sign will also be launched this summer, travelling to events and high-footfall locations to provide further opportunities for the public to engage with the installation and capture memorable moments. "Members of the public are invited to visit the sign at Campion Park and tag Visit Gibraltar on social media. Minister for Tourism, Christian Santos, said: “This new Gibraltar sign is about creating moments that people want to capture and share. It’s a simple but impactful way of showcasing our destination through the eyes of those who experience it. As we continue to enhance our tourism offering, initiatives like this help bring Gibraltar’s identity to life in a modern and engaging way." #gibraltar #campionpark #gibraltarsign #holiday #touristboard

🔑Pix: [email protected] Parceria? Gibraltar spans just 6.7 square kilometers yet carries outsized geopolitical weight. Dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, it overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar linking the Atlantic and Mediterranean, with Africa visible on clear days. A British Overseas Territory since 1713, Gibraltar governs itself internally while the United Kingdom controls defense and foreign policy. Its border with Spain—adjacent to the city of La Línea de la Concepción—is one of Europe’s most unusual frontiers. On a typical weekday, around 15,000 people cross between Spain and Gibraltar, many commuting for work, creating long queues that shape daily life and the local economy. Language reflects this hybridity. English is the official language, but Spanish is widely spoken, often merging into Llanito, a local dialect mixing Andalusian Spanish with English vocabulary and expressions. On Main Street, British symbols—red phone boxes, pubs, police uniforms—sit alongside Mediterranean habits and rhythms. Above, the Upper Rock hosts Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe, reinforcing Gibraltar’s distinct identity. #spanish #english #llanito #spanglish #gibraltar

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is known for its iconic landmark, the Rock of Gibraltar, a limestone formation rising from the sea. As a strategic location, Gibraltar has a rich history of military significance and has been controlled by various powers throughout the centuries. Today, it is a self-governing territory with its own government and parliament, but defense and foreign affairs are the responsibility of the United Kingdom. Gibraltar is known for its multicultural population and is home to a mix of Gibraltarians, Britons, and other nationalities. English is the official language, but Spanish is also widely spoken. The economy of Gibraltar is based on tourism, financial services, and shipping, with the Gibraltar pound as its official currency. One of Gibraltar’s most famous attractions is its colony of Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe. Visitors also come to enjoy the Mediterranean climate, explore the Rock, and experience the unique blend of British and Mediterranean cultures. #gibraltar #gibraltar🇬🇮 #gibraltarrock #history #culture #morocco #europe #mediterranean #britian #uk #tourism #limestone #gibralta

Burn your bridges! Highly recommend to check international cruise berth times before you go to Gibraltar — we happened to get there right as an enormous cruise ship dock with thousands of passengers all jamming up every tourist activity. Pretty lame, but a learning experience for sure.. Tons more videos (5 per week) coming out this year, follow along! As always, drop a comment if I missed anything interesting in the area! I’m a generalist—I love learning a little about everything—so I might miss some of the deeper details. Let me know if I got anything wrong👍 #spain #andalusia #andalucia #gibraltar

I had an amazing time in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, definitely recommend visiting. One of the most unique things about Gibraltar is its airport, known as one of the most dangerous in the world due to its short runway. To enter Gibraltar, you actually walk across the runway itself. With only a few flights each day, the crossing is briefly closed during takeoffs and landings, then reopened once the runway is clear. As for what to do while you are there, I recommend taking the cable car up to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar. The views from the top are stunning, you can see the entire city and even across to Africa on a clear day. From there, walk back down to explore various tourist spots along the way. Just a heads up, be careful around the monkeys at the top. I did not have any food on me, but one still jumped on me and ripped my t-shirt, funny now, but a bit of a surprise at the time. Here is a list of places I visited / activities I did in Gibraltar: - The Rock of Gibraltar - Skywalk - St. Michael’s Cave - Barbary Macaques - Suspension Bridge - The Great Siege Tunnels - Moorish Castle - Gibraltar Airport - Dolphin Safari …..
