@mrswang.cbr is located within @tigerlane.cbr in the @canberracentre serving modern Chinese. We were looking for a place serving plenty of gluten free options and @mrswang.cbr delivered. We opted for the classic set (approx $45pp) and made it gluten free. What we ate: - Mrs Wang’s Shanghai soup dumplings (xaio long bao) 🥟 - Classic steamed chicken & prawn siu mai 🦐🐓 - Stir fried beef with two colour pepper 🥩🫑 - King prawn with seasonal vegetables 🦐 - Crispy rock salt tofu - Jasmine rice 🍚 - Ice cream 🍨 There were a few hiccups with food service at the beginning including starting with a non gluten free item (which we clarified before eating) and then a hiccup with the execution of the sui mai, but both were quickly rectified and we were offered complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. The food otherwise hit the spot, it was light and didn’t sit heavily afterwards and we left with happy bellies. Where to for the nxt meal!? 💭🍴 #thenxtmeal #visitcanberra #canberra #canberrafood#canberraeats #weareCBR #food #instafood #foodblooger #picoftheday #instagood #foodie #foodblogger #foodporn #foodlove #foodphoto #foodandwine #delicious #cbr #canberrafood #eatcanberra #hercanberra #canberralife #foodlover #canberrafoodies #glutenfree #glutenfreefoodie #glutenfreecanberra

Did you know that people who are gluten intolerant in Australia… can eat gluten in Europe for a very strange reason? 🤯🌾 (This does not include Coeliac just intolerance) ** This first part is anecdotal, but my fiancé Bec is the perfect example ❤️ Here in Australia, if she even looks at gluten she’s in trouble 😅 But when we went to Europe last year? She ate her bodyweight in pasta, pastries, bread… and not a single “explode-in-the-toilet” episode 🚽💨 So I looked into it and it turns out thousands of Aussies and Americans experience the exact same thing when they travel ✈️🇪🇺 And the big reason comes down to the type of wheat we grow 🌾 In Australia, we typically grow a modern wheat called Triticum aestivum. It’s designed to survive harsh climates, which means it has a stronger gluten structure 💪 …but that can make it harder for some people to digest 😬 In many European countries, they still grow older, ancient varieties like spelt, emmer and einkorn. These have weaker gluten structures, and for some people, that makes them way easier to digest 😌 Europe also has smaller, more traditional farms with shorter-shelf-life products 🍞 Meanwhile Australia and the US use large-scale, industrial systems that prioritise long-life products 🏭 A lot of people also blame glyphosate… but the reality? Australia doesn’t really use it on wheat the way the US and Canada do — so it’s probably not the main cause here 🤷♂️ So what can you do about it? Growing your own wheat isn’t exactly realistic 😂 Some people bake their own bread using European flours and feel better… but let’s be honest doing that every week is inconvenient AF 🍞💀 So stick to the gluten-free products that work for you… and on your next Euro summer holiday? Eat the pasta. Live your best life. Enjoy being magically “gluten tolerant” for four weeks 🇮🇹🍝✨ My page breaks down confusing nutrition topics and makes them easy to understand 🙌 If this helped, make sure you drop a follow ❤️ #fatloss #weightloss #gluten #glutenfree #bread #europe #glutenintolerance

Gluten⬇️ You’re telling me we ate bread just fine for thousands of years, and now, all of a sudden, people can’t process it at an alarming rate in the last 20 years? Hmm… what’s going on? Well, if you look at the ingredients on store-bought bread, it’s clear that our bodies might not be designed to process all those lab-made chemicals. Take it a step further and you learn the grain used to make your bread is often sprayed with glyphosate, a chemical known to disrupt the gut microbiome… Hmm? Go even one step further and you ask the question…who profits from this? 🤔 So, what’s really going into the process of bread making these days? Sourdough, a traditional method, is making a resurgence — and for good reason! Sourdough starters create fermented bread, which is beneficial for gut health and can be easier to digest because fermentation helps break down some gluten. This process is how our ancestors made it! Gluten free croissants I ate across Italy as a Coeliac 🥐 1. @pasticceriagualtieri in Florence 2. @cortese_cafe in Florence 3. @paneemozza in Alberobello (Puglia region) 4. @newfoodglutenfree in Rome 5. @celiachiamolab in Rome 6. @schaerglutenfree in the freezer at lots of supermarkets! All these places were either 100% gluten free or accredited by the Italian Coeliac Association. Not a bad croissant amongst them!

I thought I was gluten-sensitive, too. I gave it up for years thinking gluten was the problem, but really gluten was just the scapegoat. It’s true, every time I ate gluten I would feel gross…but I was missing the real root cause ⬇️ Most of the time we’re not reacting to the gluten itself... we’re reacting to the chemicals, bleaching, additives and synthetic nutrients in commercially processed flour. These chemicals (like folic acid) can cause a LOT of different health issues, but it’s more convenient (and more profitable…) to just pin the blame on gluten. Gluten gets blamed and we end up living without something we actually love…💔🥺 BUT there’s good news: There is a way to enjoy gluten WITHOUT the consequences: simply bake with Unsifted fresh flour ✅ Unsifted fresh flour is milled right before baking, and is made from premium whole grains - nothing is added or removed. Unsifted fresh flour has 40/44 key nutrients AND the active enzymes your body needs to digest gluten. That means you can eat bread without the bloating, carb-crash, constipation, and inflammation 🎉 Unlike commercial flour, Unsifted fresh flour is a whole food. It naturally has the enzymes and nutrients our bodies need to properly digest the gluten (these nutrients and enzymes are missing in commercial flour). AND these nutrients and enzymes pass through to ANYTHING you make with the flour (think bread, rolls, cookies, cakes, pizza, pasta, bagels, pretzels, and more!) And when you buy from Unsifted you can be confident: ☑️ No folic acid / no synthetic nutrients ☑️ No glyphosate / no GMOs ☑️ Organically grown in the USA Switching to fresh flour can feel overwhelming, but we make it simple. Our Starter Kit has everything you need to easily start baking with fresh flour. Reply START to get a link to our Starter Kit and read reviews from hundreds of “gluten-sensitive” customers who are now enjoying all the gluten-filled carbs….without the consequences 🎉 Isn’t it time to get your bread back? We can help 🩵 PS: Share this to your stories to help your friends discover fresh flour 💕💜 *not medical advice, informational purposes only.
