If I were to start over as a beginner golfer, here are 3 drills I would do every single day to become a scratch golfer ⬇️ Read Below ⬇️ 1. First take a towel and put it under your arm pits The towel forces your arms to stay connected to your torso. This helps eliminate excessive arm movement, which can cause inconsistent contact and poor distance control. 2. Next drill Take a towel and place it on the ground about a clubbed behind your golf ball If you hit the towel before the ball it means your low point is behind the ball which is the most common reason for those Chunk or Fat shots. Learn how to control the low point and strike the ball first before the turf One of the keys for consistent contact 3. Final drill we are going to train our landing point Take a towel and place it on a spot where you want to land the ball for that specific shot Most amateur golfers focus only on the pin. But the best players in the world think landing spot first, then the roll out. By aiming at a towel, you’re shifting your mind to where to land it, not just where it finishes. BACK TO SWING BASICS (cry) - what I’m working on in my golf swing… ✨ quick update - as most of you know, I learnt my golf swing online as a total beginner back in 2020 - and since I want to get improving again - I’m now back working with my OG coach @sggolfcoaching who’s based out in Malaysia (and I’ve never actually met in real life!!) so this is what we worked on in our first session… 1. GRIP: annoying & probably feels a bit boring when you get told to fix this, but actually VERY important as it’ll impact how you load the golf club in backswing (that we can then use in the downswing). there’s no space between my thumb and first finger anymore (feel pinched together) and then I’m angling my right hand more in my set up. grip is going help with control, speed, power and distance (even though it’s probably the least fun thing you can be told to work on) obviously I’ve been bothered about “lag” aka “load” - which is created by our backswing first, and is then taken into the downswing - so a more functional backswing, where you body is, arms are, wrist position, is going to lead to better load 2. SET UP - again not fun to be told to fix your set up!! but it’s important (dw i don’t find it fun either haha) my goal is a slight tilt away from target with my upper body (currently I’m leant a tiny bit too forward), my other work on is my left hip pushing a little bit more forward, left knee inward slightly. Your hips translate to how your body ends up moving!! bad set up = hard to get things to move in the right way and also challenges with different clubs due to rotation like i said - grip and set up aren’t the most glamorous things to be working on… but they’re necessary. gotta keep going with these until they become second nature (atm they’re a VERY conscious thought for me!!) feel like im back to basics again haha ⛳️: @precisiongolf

One of my biggest problems is having a steep arm at the top of my backswing. To return that arm to a good spot in line with the shoulder all you need is a towel. Putting a towel under your arms forces the arms to stay connected to the body and not have a steep angle at the top of the backswing #golf #girlsgolf #tips #golfswing #swingtips

This feeling will FIX your Driving! 🔥 Most people who struggle with Distance with a Driver are coming into the ball too steep and slicing it as a result.
