This drill is a game changer ⬇️ Read Below First take your driver and grip it the same way you would with your left hand but with our right hand, we are going to grip all the way down to the graphite part of the shaft: if you feel like your holding a hockey stick, your doing it right Then take some practice swings The reason why Rory likes this drill so much is because it puts him in a great backswing position in the backswing BUT it also gets him to in a great position in the downswing by creating a lot of width & keeping his right elbow in front of his body instead of behind. Shoulder width apart is ideal. ❌ Don’t have your lead toe pointing straight ahead, flare it open to release tension in the hip, allowing you to rotate more efficiently. ❌ Hinge the Wrist! Don’t lock your arms and hands on the backswing, we need to hinge to create an appropriate angle of attack and release! Look to create an “L” shape on the backswing like the video. ❌ Don’t transfer your weight into your trail side on the downswing, instead shift your weight toward your lead side during the downswing and into impact! If I were to start over as a beginner golfer, here are 3 drills I would do every single day to become a scratch golfer ⬇️ Read Below ⬇️ 1. First take a towel and put it under your arm pits The towel forces your arms to stay connected to your torso. This helps eliminate excessive arm movement, which can cause inconsistent contact and poor distance control. 2. Next drill Take a towel and place it on the ground about a clubbed behind your golf ball If you hit the towel before the ball it means your low point is behind the ball which is the most common reason for those Chunk or Fat shots. Learn how to control the low point and strike the ball first before the turf One of the keys for consistent contact 3. Final drill we are going to train our landing point Take a towel and place it on a spot where you want to land the ball for that specific shot Most amateur golfers focus only on the pin. But the best players in the world think landing spot first, then the roll out. By aiming at a towel, you’re shifting your mind to where to land it, not just where it finishes.
