The ‘Egg Float Test’ is one of the most popular methods for checking whether an egg is good or bad, if it is passed the expiration date. This happens to me from time to time, and it’s a great way to test the eggs especially if you’re in the middle of making a recipe 🙈🙃 Here is how to perform this floating egg test. Gently place your egg into a bowl of water. If the egg sinks, it is fresh. If it tilts upwards or even floats, it is old. This happens because as eggs age, the small air pockets inside it grow larger as water is released and replaced by air. If the air pocket becomes large enough, the egg may float. **Please keep in mind that by cracking an egg open, sniffing it, and checking for discoloration is a really precise method of determining freshness. What I did to try and improve my egg quality 🥚 I started a lot of these changes around 3 months before my IVF was due to start. There’s no way of knowing if it helped, but my AMH was so low I figured it was worth a try - we really had to go with the approach of quality over quantity. We got 4 eggs, all of which fertilised and all of which made it to day 5. Of those 4, we have 3 strong embryos ❤️ I’m not a doctor so please check with yours first, and remember to just do what’s best for you.
