Building on our decade-long efforts to identify the next generation of Egyptian artists, last year, we consolidated the search under the umbrella 'Masr Wallada' and invited 43 artists from different governorates. Now in its second year, Masr Wallada is transforming into a launchpad for emerging artists, currently showcasing the works of 60 rigorously handpicked artists from Alexandria to Sohag. To take it a step further, this year, we are launching Prix Masr Wallada to put the spotlight on a number of highly creative, distinctive voices, who, with the right support system and a commitment to their career, can elevate their artistic practice. After deliberation with various jury members, we will announce the finalists and winners in the coming days. المولد في مصر هو احتفال ديني وشعبي يقام سنويا ^^ حيث يجتمع فيه الذكر الصوفي والزيارات للمقامات والناس القادمه من كل المحافظات وتختلط الاضواء بحلقات الذكر ويتحول الزحام الى مشهد انساني حي كما يقدم الطعام والشراب مجانا لزوار المولد .. وتقام طقوس شعبيه قديمه مثل التحطيب ويعد مولد السيده زينب من اكبر الموالد في القاهره .. اما السيده زينب حفيدة النبي فلها مكانه خاصه في وجدان المصريين ويقع جامعها في قلب المنطقه التي حملت اسمها وبين اختلاف الروايات التاريخيه عن مكان دفنها يبقى هذا الجامع شاهدا على ارتباط المصريين بها The Mawlid in Egypt is an annual religious and popular celebration. It brings together Sufi dhikr, visitors, and people coming from all governorates. Lights mingle with the chanting circles, and the crowd turns into a living human scene. Food and drinks are offered freely to the visitors of the Mawlid, and old popular rituals, such as stick dancing, are still performed. The Mawlid of Sayyida Zeinab is one of the largest in Cairo. Sayyida Zeinab, the granddaughter of the Prophet, holds a special place in the hearts of Egyptians. Her mosque is located in the heart of the area that bears her name. Despite differing historical accounts, this place remains a testament to the bond between Egyptians and her legacy.
