Somehow for many of us one of the most difficult plantspecies in our garden. GRASSES Many people like grasses, but hesitate to use them in their garden. Some of the most well known difficulties; -Grasses, some Deschampsia, Stipa and Eragrostis species can sow theirselves like H# and will spread and dominate your garden to quick. -Grasses are sometimes difficult to recognize, although when they're still young in spring, what makes it challenging to keep the right ones in and the wrong ones out of your garden. When you're not that experienced, then take these species. They are easier to recognize and will barely spread. -Deschampsia 'Palava', Panicum 'Küpferhirsche', Panicum 'Heavy Metall' Pennisetums, Stipa gigantea, Sesleria autumnalis, Molinia arundinacea, Festuca mairei and many more. Every garden NEEDS grasses. When you buy a flowerbouquet in a flowershop you'll see that the best bouquets will not only have flowers, but opposits as well like apple leaves, Eucalyptus leaves, fern foliage and grasses. They take care for the right balance. And it works the same in the garden. 30% grasses can make the difference between boring and exciting. Ornaments grasses like this Chinese maiden grass, Miscanthus sinensis ‘Morning Light’ make your garden sing. they especially look and sound good when the wind blows. And in Oklahoma the wind does blow. I know that maiden grass is aggressive and invasive in some parts of the US, but it isn’t here. Some Qualters grow quite large while other ones are smaller. If you don’t want to use the grass that isn’t native you can try Virginia switch grass. Just know that the growth form is completely different. which grasses do you grow in your garden I have mini.
