Here’s how I cleaned my rust-filled blackstone with no chemicals and just two natural ingredients! I went all winter and spring long without using my blackstone griddle and it got extremely rusty. I was able to clean it up using just charcoal and lemons! Here’s how it works: 1. Gently scrape away as much topical rust as you can easily do with a metal brush or griddle scrape 2. Crush up your charcoal into smaller bits and powder. This will act as an abrasive tool to help scrape away loose rust without deeply scratching the surface. 3. Mix in lemon juice with the charcoal dust to make a slushee paste like substance. The critic acid in lemon juice reacts with iron oxide (rust), breaking down the bonds it holds to the metal. 4. Combo power – The acid loosens the rust chemically, and the charcoal powder scrubs it away physically. The lemon halves themselves act like a built-in sponge/brush. 5. Use a little water and towels or paper towels to remove the mixture and clean off the surface. 6.
