“Open any star map: the question isn’t whether worlds exist—it’s how many could welcome life.” Kepler and follow-up analyses suggest a significant fraction of Sun-like stars host Earth-size planets in the habitable zone—implying billions of potentially temperate worlds in our galaxy alone. On Earth, life thrives from boiling acid springs to deep-sea vents, reminding us that biology is astonishingly versatile. Extraordinary? Absolutely. But unconfirmed beyond Earth—for now. Life may not be rare—what’s rare is how extraordinary it is. Telescopes keep finding worlds in the right places, and Earth keeps surprising us with organisms that flourish in the “impossible.” Until we have proof beyond home, we carry two truths: humility before the data—and wonder before the possibilities. #Exoplanets #Astrobiology #Habitability #Kepler #CosmicPerspective #InfiniteMind Disclaimer: Educational content; no confirmed discovery of extraterrestrial life to date. Is the earth only habitable planet? Kepler-452b is a super-Earth exoplanet orbiting within the inner edge of the habitable zone of the sun-like star Kepler-452 and is the only planet in the system discovered by Kepler. It is located about 1,800 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. And Gliese 667 Cc is an exoplanet orbiting within the habitable zone of the red dwarf star Gliese 667 C, which is a member of the Gliese 667 triple star system, approximately 23.62 light-years away in the constellation of Scorpius. Nevada has a serious problem with the enforcement of habitability complaints against landlords. We have heard from Culinary Union members, as well as other community members, regarding landlords failing to make urgent and necessary repairs in a timely manner, including in life-threatening circumstances, such as air conditioners failing in Las Vegas summers. In observing eviction proceedings in Las Vegas Justice Court, we have seen many tenants evicted because they withheld rent as a result of their units being unlivable. Unfortunately, because renters did not know the proper process for withholding rent, they were removed from their homes and had an eviction placed on their record. Eviction court cannot be the only venue for tenants to enforce their rights and the stakes are too high if a renter makes a mistake. Nevada must ensure that there is an incentive structure in place to encourage landlords to maintain their units in a livable state and that the process is transparent and effective so renters can enforce their right to a livable home. The Culinary Union urges the Nevada Legislature to support and pass AB223. 📺 Courtesy: KSNV

Wait for the comeback. We all have thought of possibilities of life outside of this planet. Scientists have found a planet named Kepler 442B. Kepler-442b, a super Earth exoplanet, is considered potentially habitable because it orbits within its star's habitable zone, where liquid water could exist, and receives sufficient radiation to potentially sustain life. It is a little bigger than Earth having oceans five hundred times deeper. It also got a very thick atmosphere potentially stopping aateroids from reaching the surface. Earth also have this quality but to a weaker extent. Meanwhile Jupiter is so massive it's gravitational pull attracts most of the aateroids towards itself keeping Earth safe. #space

Evolution of planet earth 🌎😯 Cameramen never dies! 🤨 Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the only astronomical object known where life developed and found habitability. This is enabled by Earth being a water world, the only one in the Solar System sustaining liquid surface water. Almost all of Earth's water is contained in its global ocean, spanning 70.8% of Earth's surface. The remaining 29.2% of Earth's surface is land, most of which is located in the form of continental landmasses within one hemisphere, Earth's land hemisphere. Most of Earth's land is somewhat humid and covered by vegetation, while large sheets of ice at Earth's polar deserts retain more water than Earth's groundwater, lakes, rivers and atmospheric water together. Earth's land is part of Earth's crust, consisting of several slowly moving tectonic plates, which interact to produce mountain ranges, volcanoes, and earthquakes. Inside Earth's crust is a liquid outer core that generates the magnetosphere, deflecting most of the destructive solar winds and cosmic radiation. 📸 @astro.voyagers Follow for more space content @astrotaner 🚀

Did you know Earth has an ocean beneath your feet? 🌟 It's not liquid water, but a massive water reservoir trapped in a mineral called ringwoodite, deep in the Earth's mantle transition zone! 🌎💧 Researchers used seismic waves to map this hidden ocean, which could hold up to three times more water than all surface oceans combined! 🌊💦 This discovery changes our understanding of Earth's water cycle and could even shed light on the planet's habitability. 🌟🔬 Want to learn more about this incredible discovery? 🤔 Let me know in the comments! 💬 #earthsocean #hiddenocean #waterrreservoir #ringwoodite #seismicscience #earthscience #watercycle #planetaryformation #habitability #scientificdiscovery

Power of Sun 🗿❤️🔥 Heliosphere The sun sends out a constant flow of charged particles called the solar wind, which ultimately travels past all the planets to some three times the distance to Pluto before being impeded by the interstellar medium. This forms a giant bubble around the sun and its planets, known as the heliosphere. NASA studies the heliosphere to better understand the fundamental physics of the space surrounding us - which, in turn, provides information regarding space throughout the rest of the universe, as well as regarding what makes planets habitable. The solar wind is a gas of charged particles known as plasma, a state of matter governed by its own set physical laws just as the more common solids, liquids, and gases are. As the solar wind sweeps out into space, it creates a space environment filled with radiation as well as magnetic fields that trail all the way back to the sun. This space environment is augmented by interstellar cosmic rays and occasional concentrated clouds of solar material that burst off the sun, known as coronal mass ejections. This complex environment surrounds the planets and ultimately has a crucial effect on the formation, evolution, and destiny of planetary systems. For one thing, our heliosphere acts as a giant shield, protecting the planets from galactic cosmic radiation. Earth is additionally shielded by its own magnetic field, the magnetosphere [link to 2e.Magnetosphere], which protects us not only from solar and cosmic particle radiation but also from erosion of the atmosphere by the solar wind. Planets without a shielding magnetic field, such as Mars and Venus, are exposed to such processes and have evolved differently. Where’s Home? Out of the 100 billion stars in our Galaxy how is it possible that only one Planet has life 🤔 We are living in a golden age of Milky Way research and exploration. The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy around 13.6 billion years old with large pivoting arms stretching out across the cosmos . – Galaxy type: Barred spiral – Age: 13.6 billion years (and counting) – Size: 100,000 light-years across – Number of stars: about 200 billion – Rotation time: 250 million years Our home galaxy's disk is about 100,000 light-years in diameter and just 1000 light-years thick, according to Las Cumbres Observatory. Just as Earth orbits the sun, the solar system orbits the center of the Milky Way. Despite hurtling through space at speeds of around 515,000mph (828,000kmph) our solar system takes approximately 250 million years to complete a single revolution, according to Interesting Engineering. #astronomy #space #milkyway #galaxy #deepspace #planets #earth #moon #universe #stargazing #cosmos #home #✨

Curiosity was launched into space on 26th November 2011. Curiosity is a car sized Mars rover exploring Gale crater and Mount Sharp on Mars as part of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission. Mission goals include an investigation of the Martian climate and geology, assessment of whether the selected field site inside Gale has ever offered environmental conditions favorable for microbial life (including investigation of the role of water), and planetary habitability studies in preparation for human exploration. NASA's long-lived Mars robotic rover Curiosity landed in Gale Crater on 5th August, in the year 2012. On its 1st birthday in 2013, Curiosity sang a solitary Happy Birthday to itself from Mars' lonely surface. On August 6, 2022, a detailed overview of accomplishments by the Curiosity rover for the last ten years was reported. The rover is still operational, and as of 10 March 2024, Curiosity has been active on Mars for 11 years, 217 days since its landing. Long live Curiosity. #space #nasa
