Do this to prevent hamstring injuries⚡️ Build eccentric strength where it’s needed💪🏻

Hamstring Strength: The Key For Speed Hamstrings drive knee flexion and hip extension, crucial for generating force in each stride. Nordic hamstring curls focus mostly on eccentric strength, while leg curls build concentric strength. Single-leg Romanian deadlifts (SL RDLs) focus on stretching and lengthening the hamstrings. Together, these exercises target the full range of hamstring function, making them perfect for boosting your speed. #speedtraining #sprinting #sprinttraining #footballtraining #soccertraining #gym #hamstringstrength

Eccentric hamstring strength is a KPI for sprinters (Alt et al. 2024) and jumpers (McMahon & Graham-Smith 2010). Being able to perform a nordic under control is an example of both high eccentric as well as concentric strength in the hamstrings. If you want to run fast, your leg has to move fast in the air, which means your hamstrings have to have the eccentric strength necessary to control the knee during late swing as well as the trunk/pelvis during initial contact. And horizontal jumpers in track have to reach higher velocities to jump farther in most cases. Additionally, the hamstrings are required to perform co-contractions at the knee and hip in order to have adequate stiffness and energy transfer through the kinetic chain. Plus they need to be strong concentrically as well for hip extension. Get those hammies strong. Don’t neglect their importance for performance (leave no stone unturned) and injury risk reduction. Just don’t go too crazy with nordics otherwise you might fatigue yourself too much and pull your hammy if your sprint volumes are high. There are plenty of other effective hamstring exercises you can choose from (including sprinting!)

Eccentric hamstring strength is a game-changer for speed and explosiveness—it’s what helps you decelerate with control, absorb force efficiently, and generate more powerful strides. Stronger eccentrics = faster cuts, quicker starts, and greater top-end speed. One of the best ways to build this is the partner Nordic hamstring exercise, which directly targets the hamstrings’ ability to handle force under tension—boosting sprint mechanics, reducing injury risk, and improving stride efficiency. Elite Supa⭐️ sprinter Karontae Cunningham can perform Nordics without using his hands to catch himself—a rare feat that reflects his elite eccentric strength and blazing speed. 💥4 Hamstring Specific Strength, Speed, and Performance Building Exercises for Athletes💥 Hamstrings are built for speed. They require proper strength during both eccentric and concentric motions. This is so They can produce and sustain high amounts force outputs while remaining durable. #hamstrings #hamstringstrength #hamstringtraining #athletetraining #strengthandconditioningcoach

Eccentric overload hamstring slider: — A great progression to the traditional eccentric hamstring slider as pneumatic air resistance increases overload throughout the movement — Eccentric hamstring exercises can improve tissue length, deceleration capacity, and overall strength to enhance rehab and performance for return to sport

3 MEDBALL EXERCISES 1. hamstring eccentrics: drop the medball to add speed and challenge the hamstrings ability to slow things down in a lengthened position. 2. lower extremity loading: use the med ball to pull the body down and to the side encouraging the legs to drop down and slow down at the same time. 3. functional power transfer: feel the med ball give the body feedback as power is transferred from the foot, up the hips, through the spine, and out of the hands. Perfect for these MMA athletes, but great for athletes in general. #physiotherapy #training #mma #medball #slam #eccentric #hamstring #loading #core #strength #power

☠️HAMSTRINGS TRAINING ⚡️ ...... 📈 Hamstring is one of the most important muscles for athletes who helps in many movements and hamstring training is very essential for every athlete. 💯That training exercise will help to enhance elastic power speed that will help to increase more force in minimum time it’s very helpful in running sprinting. ❌ Weak Hamstring - Weak Hamstring creates a lot of problems and difficulties in the Athletic field and performance if we have weak Hamstring we create many chances of injuries like back pain, knee injury, strains in the lower body very early. ✅ Strong Hamstring - A strong hamstring is very essential and has many benefits of hamstring strength if we train hamstring properly . *Enhance running power. *Increase speed and strength. *Enhance elastic power. *Reduce injury chances. *Enhance performance. ... Try these exercises and elevate your level 💥 #hamstrings #hamstring #hamstringworkout #injury #athlete#cricket#soccer#runner#track#trackandfield #cricket#strength#

The hamstrings need to be strong and stable into concentric and eccentric contractions meaning strong when they shorten (ex: hamstring curls) and strong when they lengthen (ex: deadlifts). Your strength routine should consist of both + hip stability exercises. For a full strength routine designed for runners, go through the Runners Complete Program: 12 weeks to run stronger and prevent injuries, has helped over 2,000 runners 🏃♀️ (linked in bio)

Are you incorporating Nordic Hamstring Curls into your training?🤔 Nordic curls are one of the most effective exercises for bulletproofing your hamstrings🦵to significantly reduce the risk of injury 🚑. They focus on the eccentric (lengthening) phase of hamstring contraction, a crucial component for developing strength💪, stability, and muscle endurance 🏃♂️. By training the hamstrings to handle higher loads 🏋️, Nordic curls build the strength needed to protect against strains and tears ⛓️💥. Additionally, they target both the upper and lower portions of the hamstrings 🎯, promoting balanced strength development across the entire muscle group 🔥. #hamstrings #hockey #strengthtraining #weightlifting #offseason #eccentric #injuryprevention #btebuilt #btehockey
