I used to think my hearing loss was just that - a loss. But quantum physics taught me otherwise It started with a simple appointment to get my ears cleaned. But after a few random tests, the audiologist looked at me and said:
“Do you want the good news or the bad news?” Bad news? I had a 20% deficit in high-frequency hearing loss.
Good news? I qualified for government-subsidised hearing aids.
I struggled with my diagnosis at first. I feared if my hearing would get worse. But intuitively I felt like there was a deeper reason this was happening. In quantum physics, energy cannot be created or destroyed - only transformed. So… where did that 20% of ability to hear go? Maybe my hearing loss was guiding me to listen to something deeper. Over the years, I’ve noticed something. An ability to sense beyond what my ears can hear.

When I’m in certain places, my ears ring - loudly. At first, I brushed it off as random. But the more I’ve leaned in, the more I understand: This isn’t a deficit. It’s a different kind of hearing. A deeper listening.
An inner knowing.
An ability to hear beyond the veil. Energy doesn’t disappear, only transform - and denying our gifts takes energy too! So instead of suppressing what I knew to be true…
I listened.
I asked myself: Nikki what are you being asked to hear? What truth is rising beneath the noise? The more I did, the stronger my gifts have become. Now, I can sense when someone lies. I can feel when someone’s words don’t match the language of their body. I can sense things before they happen. Maybe this resonates with you. Maybe you’ve been ignoring your own subtle gifts.
The whispers of your body.
The signals in the spaces between worlds.
Something that can’t be explained with logic. I’ve learned that when we stop running from what we don’t understand, we make room to truly listen. And in listening… we begin to hear everything we’ve been missing all along. What if the energy of what we lose is simply being redirected? So now, I no longer say “my hearing loss”, because of how much it’s gifted me! Thank you @hearing_australia ❤️ #miracles #hearingloss #hearingaids #consciousness #clairgifts #sixthsense

A little bit about my hearing loss 🦻🏼 I never felt like I fitted in when I was younger because of it. At school I was the only hearing aid wearer that wasn’t completely deaf so I didn’t feel like I belonged either to; the deaf community or those who didn’t wear hearing aids at all. I wanted to fit in so I chose not to wear them because I felt so self conscious wearing them. Which has affected me massively and I’ve suffered as a result especially through school and university. I’m now at a point in my life where I’m ready to embrace them and not let it affect my life anymore 🫶🏼 #hearingaids #hearingloss #hearingimpaired #deafcommunity #hearingaidsarecool

something you may not know about me is that I’ve dealt with hearing loss my entire life, so I partnered with @HearingLife_USA to get fitted for hearing aids for the first time. it was a great experience, and it was so emotional to be able to hear 100% out of both of my ears for the first time. I was so lucky to have my husband and son there to support me. I hope this inspires you to take action for yourself or share this video to start the hearing health conversation with someone you love ❤️#HearingLifePartner

I finally got a hearing aid! I started developing otosclerosis over 7yrs ago after the birth of my first child. It got worse with my second. My right ear has not been able to hear much for many years but I am grateful that my left is still ok. (My left went down 10% in the last 2 yrs but I can still hear comfortably). The hearing loss mainly bothered me in group settings where it became overwhelming to focus on one person talking, but I do enjoy at night to put my good ear down and not hear the sounds around. The worst part was when my tinnitus started developing a few years ago. It sounded like the washing machine was on, swooshing in my head 24/7. It made me dizzy and caused a lot of anxiety and emotional distress. Over time I have learned to accept it and find what things trigger or inflame it. (If anyone is struggling with tinnitus I have found a humidifier is helping a bit. I have given up caffeine, cut back on sugar, and rarely drink alcohol). I finally broke down and decided to get a hearing aid. My mom actually gifted it to me🥹🙏🏻. It has been an overwhelming day hearing all the new sounds from different directions. The highlight being my 5yo whispering “I love you” in my newly hearing ear!✨🫶🏻 #otosclerosis #hearingloss #hearingaids

Hearing loss = everything just gets quiet
14,839

What people think: Hearing loss = everything just gets quieter or you can’t hear quiet sounds. It’s really a lot more complex than that. Reality: Speech is more distorted, you can hear sounds, but some can be unclear and speech can be jumbled. It’s harder to understand meaning your brain has to do more work to understand so you’re more tired and exhausted from the day. We are a year into Elsie’s hearing loss diagnosis and still learning so much about the hearing loss she has, the aids she wears and what else we can do to support her. #hearingloss #hearinglossawareness #reallife #family #hearinghealth
