The helix piercing is super popular and often the go-to for first-timers, but is it really the best choice? I don’t think so! 😬 While I love them (I have 4 helixes), they can take a long time to heal and are prone to irritation due to their placement on the outer ear. They’re more likely to get bumped, have hair stuck in them, or be squished while sleeping, which can delay healing. Helix piercings are better for those prepared for a longer healing process. If it’s your first cartilage piercing, I’d recommend a flat, upper conch, or inner conch (with a stud instead of a hoop) for a more hidden, low-maintenance option.
