Picking a major is stressful enough 😅 Figuring out which colleges are actually good for that major? Even worse. So I broke it down for you: the top 10 schools for every major students ask me about. But making the list is only half the battle… What really gets you in is the strategy behind your classes, clubs, and projects. If you want my full roadmap for planning your high school courses and extracurriculars with intention, comment PLAN and I’ll send it to you ✅ #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG

Your child’s grades are not enough get them into Oxford alone. Here’s what will. Oxford and Cambridge have shifted what they are looking for and most families preparing their children now are still playing the old game. For the last two decades the formula was simple. Perfect grades. Perfect personal statement. Perfect extra-curriculars. That formula is breaking down. What actually predicts performance at elite universities isn’t grades or test scores. It’s critical thinking. Verbal reasoning. The ability to construct and defend an argument under pressure. Oxford’s own admissions guidance confirms it ,interviewers are trained to look for students who can think in real time. Not students who have memorised the right answers. The live, unscripted moment. Differentiation comes from how your child thinks-not what they produce. • 💬 Is this something you’re already thinking about? Drop your thoughts below.. . . . . #oxforduniversity #cambridgeuniversity #highereducation #criticalthinking #internationalschools

The BIGGEST study mistake students make is thinking more hours equals better grades… This isn’t true, especially if you’re still using passive study habits. I’m a current Harvard student and what actually changed my GPA was understanding the science behind why these habits don’t work: ❌ Re-reading the textbook ❌ Highlighting everything ❌ Memorizing flashcards in the same order These fall into the familiarity trap. Your brain recognizes the information, but it cannot recall it under pressure, which is why so many students blank on exams. ✅ What actually works is an active recall technique called The 3 Layer Build: 1️⃣ Outline Layer: Write the topic at the top of a blank page. Add 3 to 5 bullet points you remember without notes. 2️⃣ Explain Layer: Choose one point and explain it in simple language, like you’re teaching a confused friend. Getting stuck shows you what to review. 3️⃣ Application Layer: Create one new example or practice problem using the idea in a different way. Solve it or explain it to build flexible recall. 📕If you want my full study system as a Harvard student, comment STUDY and I’ll send it to you! #ultimateivyleagueguide #ultimatementor #uilg

1)Build something outside uni that’s yours A side project, a page, a portfolio — anything that compounds over time. Something that keeps growing even when your lectures stop. Uni ends. Your projects don’t. This is how you build real experience, confidence, and direction — not just a degree. 2)Don’t stay in your major bubble If all your friends are from your course, you’re missing out on a lot more than you think. Some of the best opportunities and ideas come from people you wouldn’t normally meet. Talk to students in different fields — design, business, engineering, anything outside your circle. Different perspectives open different doors. 3)Set deadlines — and actually follow through Internal deadlines only work if you treat them like they matter. Every time you ignore something you said you’d do, you weaken trust in yourself. Every time you follow through, you build it back. Consistency here builds discipline and confidence faster than anything else. I also keep a habit of reflecting — a quick check-in every night, and a bigger reset every semester. It helps you see your own progress, and makes it much easier to clearly communicate what you’ve done later on. 4)Do one “future action” every day Email someone. Apply somewhere. Improve something by 1%. These small actions compound faster than you think. Most people underestimate how much their life can change in 90 days of consistent effort. The earlier you figure out your direction, the better. Trying everything sounds good, but in reality, most opportunities reward focus and consistency. Once you find something you’re interested in — go deeper, not wider. 5)Have a non-negotiable health baseline Move your body every day — nothing extreme, just stay consistent. Also pay attention to the basics: your diet, your supplements, your sunlight. Your energy affects everything — your focus, your discipline, your consistency. No energy, nothing compounds. #study #school #universitylife #fypage #motivation

Choosing advanced courses in high school can set you up for

Choosing advanced courses in high school can set you up for college success, but which path fits you best? Let’s break it down: 📚 AP Classes (Advanced Placement) ✅ Pros: • Nationally recognized by most colleges & universities • Looks strong on college applications • Opportunity to earn college credit (with a passing AP exam score) ⚠️ Cons: • College credit is not guaranteed (depends on exam score & school’s policy) • Fast-paced, test-heavy learning style • AP exams can be costly 🏫 Dual Enrollment ✅ Pros: • Earn guaranteed college credits (if courses transfer to your chosen college) • Experience real college-level classes while in high school • Often free or low cost through partnerships with local colleges ⚠️ Cons: • Credits may not transfer to every university, especially out of state • Grades go on both high school & college transcript (impacting GPA) • May require traveling to a college campus or adjusting to college schedules ✨ The bottom line: Both AP and Dual Enrollment can save you time and money in college, but the best choice depends on your learning style, career goals, and where you plan to attend college. 👉 Which would you choose: AP or Dual Enrollment? Grades don’t mean what most people think. It’s not a sign of how smart you are. It’s a sign of how good you are at following instructions. Not that being able to follow instructions well is a bad thing, by the way. It just means grades aren’t some magically objective measure of intelligence. #college #collegeadvice #professor #freshmanadvice
