The house tea blend I’ve been making for 10+ years! If you think you don’t like tea, you just haven’t tried this blend! This tea is inspired by a tea blend they made at an apothecary in Denver I did an internship at. It’s unfortunately no longer open, but was a fun part of my journey to loving herbs! 1 part rosehips 1 part hibiscus 1 part rose 1 part nettle (optional) I brew 1 tbsp per cup of water and usually add a squeeze of lemon!

Let’s normalize giving homemade gifts over store-bought! I’ve been experimenting a bit with creating herbal tea blends for a few months now, and wanted to make an herbal tea blend to give my friends for their birthdays this past month. Side note: loose leaf tea is infinitely more budget-friendly and far less wasteful than tea bags, even more so when you buy herbs in bulk and make your own tea blend! I’m sure the real herbalists are cringing right now, but here’s my blend: Jiaogulan: Known as the “immortality herb,” it’s packed with antioxidants for a healthy boost🌱 Rose: Adds a floral touch while promoting relaxation and skin health 🌹 Lavender: Calming and soothing, perfect for stress relief and better sleep 💜 Chamomile: A classic for easing anxiety and aiding digestion 🌼 Nectarine: Sweet and fruity, it brings a refreshing twist and added vitamins 🍑 I hope they are a nice source of comfort for some of my closest friends! #minimalism #sustainability #zerowaste #lowwaste #plasticfree #sustainable #ecohome #environmentalist #foodwaste #minimalist #herbal #herbaltea #herbs #diy

🌹🌱 handle all of them Cooling off with my summer chai blend today.! I mix CTC tea with fennel, mint, cardamom, and rose petals to keep it nice and refreshing. I also add a little cinnamon and star anise which aren’t technically cooling, but I love the flavor they bring! My mom always changed her chai blends every season based on Ayurveda, and this one feels like summer in a cup! Steep it hot or pour it over ice and enjoy the freshest chai ever! Comment “CHAI BLEND” and I’ll shoot over the recipe!

My go-to cooling and supportive herbal brew lately! Approximate measurements~ 1/4c Roselle hibiscus 1/3c oatstraw 1/8c marshmallow root 1/8c rose petals Pinch of seaweed Pinch of mineral salt To brew: •combine all but the salt in a 1/2 gal mason jar and cover with very hot but not boiling water •cover with a lid and allow to infuse 6-8hrs or preferably overnight •stick the jar in the fridge to chill before straining or strain the brew over ice into a new vessel •add a pinch of salt and enjoy! Alternatively- combine the roselle and marshmallow root in a separate vessel and cover with cool water to cold infuse. This will preserve more of the polysaccharide chains and mucilage which yields a viscous liquid. Reasons to love this brew: •It’s delicious and beautiful •Mineral dense and cooling •Oatstraw makes a fantastic infusion base and I use it frequently to bulk up brews. It is nutritive and mineral rich with a very gentle flavor that doesn’t interfere with the punchier flavors of other herbs. •Roselle’s bright and juicy flavor makes for a really yummy, easy to drink beverage. It’s easier to hydrate when you’re drinking something that actually tastes good. Roselle is moistening, can help clear heat from the body, and is rich in anthocyanins.. amongst so many other things. •Marshmallow root is sooo soothing and moistening. As someone who works with kids all summer, my voice is always hanging on by a thread come July. Marshmallow helps soothe and coat the throat and makes it so much easier to keep up on vocal energy. It’s also very nutritive! •Roses can help keep our bodies and spirits cool and calm. I love adding a big pinch of rose to so many things from coffee to baked goods to herbal infusions to soap. The plants in this brew are multifaceted and may work with *your* body differently than mine. Always check in with yourself and someone you trust when working with new to you plants. I don’t usually like to list the actions/qualities of herbs in sound bites online and would rather point you to books and other resources… but I wanted to touch on the surface of these plants and why you see them around here all the time! Have fun learning more!
