The house tea blend I’ve been making for 10+ years! If you think you don’t like tea, you just haven’t tried this blend! This tea is inspired by a tea blend they made at an apothecary in Denver I did an internship at. It’s unfortunately no longer open, but was a fun part of my journey to loving herbs! 1 part rosehips 1 part hibiscus 1 part rose 1 part nettle (optional) I brew 1 tbsp per cup of water and usually add a squeeze of lemon!

Making your herbal tea properly 101! Did you know this?? I used to just steep all my teas so hopefully this can help someone. The way you prepare your tea is just as important as the plants you choose. So when making herbal tea for medicinal benefits make sure you look into how to properly prepare it, after some time it will be second nature. You can also prepare one plant two different ways to pull out different active constituents and therefore benefits too! I’m a Tea Sommelier and welcome to my cold brew tea series where I make a new cold brew every week this summer. This is a strawberry basil cold brew tea. It’s made with fresh strawberries, lemon, and basil. I have a cold brew tea formula which is tea plus 1 fruit plus 1 citrus plus 1 herb. For this one, I’m using loose black tea, fresh sliced strawberries as my fruit, lemon as my citrus, and basil as my herb. Put everything into a container and add water. Make sure the tea is in contact with the water so it gets a proper steep. Place it in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours. I left this one for 24 hours. Strain out the solids and the tea is ready to drink. It’s chilled so adding ice is optional. It’s so refreshing on a hot summer day. Make it today!
