This is The World’s largest tree. Meet General Sherman 🌲 Insider tip: You can visit this impressive tree in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, a park with over 60km of dreamy hiking trails. 📍Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, United States 📽 @codyconk #nature

At some point it stops looking like a tree. What you see is a matter of your perspective. The trunk thickens, folds into itself, grows around what’s there instead of away from it. This one has been standing since the 13th century, in what is now Kamenice nad Lipou. Long enough for the place to grow around it, and for the tree to grow into something else entirely. Linden trees were often planted in central Europe as gathering points; places where people met, talked, settled things. I’ve always liked that idea. Not just something you pass by and appreciate but something you organize around. It reminded me of places like Unter den Linden, where the trees aren’t just there for shade, but become part of how a place is experienced. After enough time, it’s hard to tell which one shaped the other more. Credit. @ architecturediscuss @ iva.linhart @ arbre #igreelschallenge

Marvel at @codyconk's view of the General Sherman Tree, the world's largest tree that's estimated to be around 2,200 to 2,700 years old. 😮 This was taken in The Giant Forest within the United States' Sequoia National Park, a sequoia grove that's home to exceptionally large sequoias. 🌳 How incredible is this tree and is witnessing this part of your bucket list? 🇺🇸 📽 @codyconk 📍 Giant Forest, Sequoia National Park, USA 🎶 Enya - Sumiregusa (Wild Violet)

Can you believe this tree weighs more than 10 blue whales🐳🌲 Sequoias aren’t just tall — they’re unbelievably massive. The numbers don’t even make sense until you’re actually there. Over 1,500 tons of living wood. Thousands of years of history. Just... rooted. Standing next to one feels like meeting a living skyscraper made of wood and time. You feel tiny in the best way - quiet, grounded, and completely in awe. This isn’t just a forest stop. It’s a perspective shift. The President Tree is the oldest known living redwood tree on Earth estimated to be about 3,300 years old. It is also the second largest tree on the planet by volume (if branch volume is included with trunk volume). 🌲 Located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, this incredible giant stands about 247 feet tall with a massive base and an enormous crown that spreads high above the forest floor. The tree’s trunk alone has an estimated volume of about 45,000 cubic feet, and when its enormous branches are included, the total volume reaches over 54,000 cubic feet. The tree was named in 1923 in honor of Warren G. Harding - the 29th president of the United States, shortly after his death, which is how it became known as the President Tree. The President Tree is especially impressive because of its huge crown, which contains some of the largest branches of any tree on the planet - many as thick as typical trees themselves. Scientists estimate the tree holds billions of needles and thousands of cones, making it like a small ecosystem high above the forest floor. While the nearby General Sherman Tree is the largest tree by volume, the President Tree remains one of the most majestic and awe-inspiring sequoias you can see in the park. 🌲 ✨Follow @adventurechasingduo for incredible outdoor adventures! 🙌 . . . . . #sequoia #sequoianationalpark #sequoiatrees #giantsequoia

Have you ever seen such ancient trees that are thousands of years old? What kind of tree is this? 🌱🌱

This is an exceptionally large American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis). It’s not just the biggest tree in Connecticut, but the largest sycamore in New England, and one of the biggest sycamore trees in the country. The tree measures 28 feet 11 inches in circumference and is estimated between 200-300 years old. Video by Fred Breglia

The world’s largest coastal redwood and the 13th largest tree on Earth, this colossal giant is estimated to be between 3,000 and 4,000 years old, with some estimates suggesting it could be even older. Standing 94.24 meters (309.2 feet) tall and measuring 8.34 meters (27.37 feet) in diameter, its immense size is almost impossible to grasp. When looking up, the tree seems to stretch infinitely toward the sky, with the top entirely out of view. But this tree is not alone—other awe-inspiring redwoods surround it, also stretching toward the heavens, their towering forms rising from the fern-covered forest floor. Unlike many massive redwoods, which are made up of multiple fused trees, this remarkable giant stands as a single, towering organism—an extremely rare and awe-inspiring spectacle of nature. . . . . . . . #california #oldgrowthforest #tree #pnw #pacificnorthwest #redwood #canada #nature #photography #hellobc #film #ancienttrees #explorebc #oldgrowth #oldgrowthforest #conservation #forest #britishcolumbia #bc #naturephotography #outdoors #bigtrees #bigtree #cedar #filmphotography #rainforest #pnwcollective #savetheplanet #ecofriendly #climateaction #35mm
