HYROX ELITE athletes don’t do HYROX workouts all the time. Here’s why ⬇️ 1️⃣ HYROX workouts are extremely fatiguing. High heart rate. Heavy legs. Long recovery. Do them too often and you’re always tired, never improving, not having energy for other workouts. 2️⃣ Elite performance is built on aerobic work, not constant intensity. Zone 1 & Zone 2 running and biking build the engine that makes HYROX feel controlled. Without this base, workouts just feel hard forever. 3️⃣ Threshold training matters more than random suffering. HYROX pace lives at threshold. Elites spend more time here than doing max-effort simulations. 4️⃣ Strength can be trained separately, on purpose. Squats, lunges, RDLs, pushes, carries. Clean reps, controlled loads, full recovery. 5️⃣ Running under fatigue is trained strategically, not daily. Elites do run after stations, but only 1–2× per week. More than that just kills quality and recovery. 6️⃣ HYROX workouts are a TOOL, not the foundation. They’re used closer to race day to dial pacing, transitions and confidence. Not as year-round conditioning. HYROX isn’t won by who survives the hardest workouts. Going faster doesn’t mean you’re doing it right. In Hyrox burpees, your feed MUST land within 30cm of your hands when your palms hit the floor. Not flinging your body forward like this starting video Not wherever they feel like. Within 30cm. If you jump your feet back too far: • You take up more space • You block the lane • You slow yourself and everyone else down • And yes, you risk no-reps or being held up That moment of surprise? That’s not bad luck. That’s bad mechanics. Do it clean. Do it tight. Do it to standard. Train how you plan to race.
