This is how I turned a $15 picture frame from Ikea into a display shelf for my Pudi and my art toys 🌷 I didn’t invent this, just found it on the internet and thought it would be so fun to share 💗 Please keep in mind that you should trim and glue the edges so that it can fit and strong enough for your toys. I made an 25x25cm ($10) for my Pudi and 35x35cm ($15) for my art toys. £15 IKEA frames can look EXPENSIVE too… I’ve also done this hack with the RIBBA frames upstairs a few years ago, however my local Ikea doesn’t seem to stock these anymore 🙈 I’ve used: RODALM 50x70 frames @ikea paired with porcelain mounts from @kodak Using a bigger frame & wider mount I was able to reuse my babies professional pictures that were previously framed in a much smaller frame! Perfect for me as it would be impossible to make my kids all 18months old again and retake a bigger picture 🤭 It’s a picture framing game changer! I’m on a mission to finish this hallway makeover before Christmas, and today’s project was a 1-day picture frame moulding wall to help highlight some photos I took of the girls! All in my @walmartfashion of course! #walmartpartner I taped out my wall to get a sense of my box sizes, then I added a chair rail 3’ high and cut down some trim for my boxes. The larger boxes are 36” x 22” and the bottom boxes are 22” x 22”! Make sure each board is level before nailing them into the wall, and use a longer level to help you move from box to box! I spackle the corners and nail holes because it’s easier to clean it up, then caulk everything before painting! I usually paint my trim the same color as my wall so it blends in while adding character. I added some cute frames and a battery powered picture light and TADA! Tons of cute character and personalization! Now help me decide if I still need a bench or console table over here or if I should leave it as is! I’m torn!
