Did you know how solid yellow polyurethane tyres are made? 🛞💛 On this line you see a row of aluminium moulds, each with a big hole in the centre. A dosing unit with a dynamic mixer combines a 2-component polyurethane system and pours the liquid yellow mix into the centre opening. Then the moulds start to rotate. Through centrifugal force, the liquid PU is pushed outward and coats the tyre-shaped ring evenly, building up a solid rubber tyre around the empty middle. After curing, workers open the moulds and remove the central core so there is space for the future rim (that part isn’t shown in the video). The finished solid tyres, still without rims, are then packed one by one into plastic bags to protect them from dirt and damage during storage and transport.
