You can’t change my mind. Mako and Sayuki are some of the only female characters in initial d that drive. Their silEighty is a combination a Nissan 180sx with the front end of a Silvia s13. The 180sx has complex pop ups headlights that are expensive to fix in a wreck vs a silvia that doesn’t have pop ups. This modification has been seen irl too in the touge culture of Japan (like in the build of @skylinetrini ) The name of the car the pair drives is called impact blue. A little bit of trivia, for my blue Subaru WRX, I took inspiration from this name and named it blue sapphire (@bluesapphire_wrx). Battling the Sileighty on Usui Pass, risking it all… only for Iketani to still fumble it with the girl. 🥴 Mako and Sayuki is easily one of my favourite races in Initial D. Such a unique track with never ending turns, and Mako is arguably one of the toughest drivers Takumi ever faces. She manhandles most drivers, even members of Emperor, and eventually turns pro. Absolute boss on the road. Tragic story for Iketani though. She really was best girl. But without this arc, we never would’ve gotten the term “Lonely Driver”. The character design is lazy sometimes 😭😭😭 Takumi Fujiwara is the main protagonist of Initial D, a quiet high school student who unknowingly becomes one of the most skilled mountain racers in Japan. At the beginning of the story, Takumi doesn’t even consider himself a racer. He works part-time delivering tofu for his father every morning before school. To keep the tofu intact, he drives carefully down the narrow mountain roads of Mount Akina in an old Toyota AE86. What Takumi doesn’t realize is that those daily deliveries are training him. Driving the same road every day builds incredible muscle memory. He learns how the car behaves under different conditions, how to manage weight transfer through corners, and how to maintain speed on tight downhill sections.
