Bioluminescence Interactive Necklace is inspired by deep ocean bioluminescent creatures, particularly the Flower Hat Jellyfish. 🪼 An ultrasonic sensors detect proximity and movement, activating embedded LED strips within the main skeletal structure of the necklace. A secondary lighting system controls the micro LEDs, creating a continuous, breathing glow , like a living organism responding to its environment. Myco is an interactive collection of mushroom drums installed at @downtowndoral. The work transforms the park into an illuminated soundscape inspired by the communication systems within fungal networks. Each cap, created from recycled and upcycled plastic sourced from Jen Lewin’s 2008 installation Pool, lights up and resonates when touched, allowing visitors to create rhythms together across the clusters. Rooted in mycology, the sculpture draws from the mutualistic relationships between fungi and plant roots. By day, Myco acts as a series of percussive instruments with distinct tones. At night, the work becomes an immersive field of light, sound, and shared play. The piece invites people of all ages to explore how interconnected systems shape the natural world.
