7 IUD side effects I wasn’t warned about! I thought getting an IUD would be the easy solution, but I wasn't prepared for the side effects: Light spotting Mood swings Acne and breakouts Intense cramps Low energy Irregular periods Lower abdominal pain Eventually, I realized I had to take care of myself in a different way. I made changes to my health routine, and discovered that NAD+ supplements helped boost my energy and balance my body. When I went to buy more, I found out they rebranded to Cata-Kor, with an even better formula for absorption! #IUDsideeffects #HormonalHealth #SelfCareJourney #NADplus #CataKor #HormonalBalance #HealthyHabits #EnergyBoost #WomenSupportingWomen #HealthyHormones #WellnessJourney #BalanceYourBody #SelfLove #EnergyRecovery #FeelYourBest #NaturalHealing #postbirthcontrolsyndrome #health #selfcare #iud #hormones #woman

This trend but infertility advice 🙌🏻>>> After finding out my previous IUD played a big roll in my infertility,I would never recommend anyone get one.💔 My story: I chose to get the IUD when I first got married BECAUSE I had my fertility at the front of my mind, and my understanding was that it offered less hormones and less long term effects than birth control pills. Often times getting your period back after birth control can be a struggle, so I had no intention of taking the pill. When I discovered the IUD it made a lot of sense, and I had no idea the uterine trauma that an IUD could cause. It was a miracle my fertility doctor decided the potential polyp on my ultrasounds was worth investigating. During my polypectomy surgery, he discovered an entire webbing of shredded up tissue that he describes as “kelp like , covering most of my uterus” . It didn’t look nearly this dirty on the ultrasound, until we could see the difference afterwards with a clean lining. There was no other explanation for this, other than my previous IUD which was the plastic Mirena. After weeks on pondering on what he saw, my doctor again said it had to be the IUD. An inflammation response as well as damage do my walls simply from being in there. I am so grateful that my doctor discovered this before our IUI treatment. The very next cycle, through IUI, I got my first ever positive pregnancy test after 2 years of trying. Unfortunately we lost that pregnancy, but 2 cycles later we were able to conceive naturally. UNREAL. I would never recommend an IUD to my daughter because fertility is so fragile🫶🏻 #infertility #fertility #fertilityjourney #infertilityawareness #infertilityjourney #iud #birthcontrol #wellness

Who can relate to hormonal symptoms post IUD!? 🙋♀️ Hormonal IUDs like the Mirena prevent pregnancy by thickening cervical mucus, creating inflammation, and releasing progestin, a synthetic hormone that often suppresses ovulation (which is when the hormone progesterone is normally made), which can contribute to hormone imbalance symptoms like the ones @ryeburch experienced (especially the longer you’re on it)! Despite this, doctors are often quick to downplay or dismiss women’s symptoms - acting like there is no connection to birth control, and that going without a period for 6 months or more is “normal.” (Perhaps it’s common, but it doesn’t have to be…) Thankfully, there are many natural ways to optimize your hormones post birth control, and @ryeburch shares exactly what she did after coming off 7 years w/the Mirena IUD- in the latest episode of the @solo2.0podcast. NOTE: the approach will be different per individual, ideally guided by test results. Comment REBALANCE & we’ll send you a link to the episode! This is NOT medical advice ‼️ This is simply me talking about my own experience with birth control. The pills gave me too many side effects. Nexplanon (aka the implant) have me horrible cystic acne. I found out about Nuvaring and it made complete sense to me. Then it nearly killed me - twice. Of course, I couldn’t do anything about it legally - the potential side effect is in the fine print (because of course it is). I can never take hormones again. I now have Paragard, the copper IUD and the only form of long-term, non-hormonal birth control available. It is effective at preventing pregnancy for 10-12 years. #womenshealth #womenshealthmatters #womenshealthcare #womenshealthandwellness #womenshealthadvocate #birthcontrolproblems #birthcontrolsideeffects #birthcontrolishealthcare #nexplanon #nexplanonimplant #nuvaring #paragard #paragardiud #iud #contraception #contraceptives #birthcontrolpills #mirena #mirenaiud #kyleena

So long, Mirena! 👋🏼 Peep my stories for the scoop! 👀 && Lmk if you’ve experienced anything like this? I found this happens more than you’d think + I’ve gotten a bunch of messages of other women sharing similar stories #birthcontrolproblems #iudremoval #iudexperience

thank you Dr. Christine Henneberg let's not downplay the pain. What is IUD? IUD insertion is a procedure where a small, T-shaped device is placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy. It's a relatively quick process, taking about 5-10 minutes, though the entire appointment may last around 30-40 minutes to allow for counseling and preparation. #fertility #iud #FertilitySupport #womenshealth #reproductionhealth #ivf #menshealth

Today I’m getting my copper IUD removed. I thought because it wasn’t hormonal it wouldn’t affect my hormones, but I was wrong. The copper IUD prevents pregnancy by creating an uninhabitable environment. But by doing so it also leeches copper into the body. More copper than the body can process, which leads to an intoxication of copper the liver then has to deal with. By doing so the digestion of estrogen is affected which leaves our body with more estrogen than it’s supposed to. This can lead to problems like heavy bleeding (which we are told is normal), headaches, anxiety, depression and yes, acne. Now I’m not saying my acne stems from the copper IUD but I do believe it is making it worse. It amazes me still how little information women are given in the medical world and because of that we have to deal with the repercussions of the decision we made with not enough information. The more I listen to other women, the more I realize it has happened to all of us at one point or another for one thing or another. The body has its cycles and they’re not me many to be broken. I understand that there are special occasions when it needs extra help and that’s fine. But breaking or interfering with our nature is obviously gonna have repercussions and probably not pretty ones. I do really hope that getting this thing out of my body is going to help me get my balance back. I know it’s going to take time, but I’m willing to listen to my body and understand what it’s trying to tell me! Have you ever experienced something like this? If yes I would love to hear about it!! #acneproneskin #iud #copperiud #copperiudproblems #womenshealth #womenreproductivehealth #acnetreatment #acnejourney #acnejourneytoclearskin #clearskin
