🇯🇲 Let’s talk about the REAL problem with Jamaican food… 👀 (It’s not the flavour. It’s not the technique.) 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 We love to eat our food… but we don’t always value it as a world-class, competitive cuisine. Until we, from within the culture, ✨ pay more ✨ celebrate it louder ✨ and respect it the same way we do French, Italian, or Japanese food …it will always be an uphill battle for Jamaican chefs pushing boundaries. When I had @woodandwateruk, the criticism was mainly from from my own community. This clip from @dragonsden? A perfect example. 🍽️ Jamaican food is bold 🍽️ Jamaican food is versatile 🍽️ Jamaican food belongs on every kind of plate I’m still deeply proud of what I created, from @3littlebirdsja to @woodandwateruk And I’m even prouder seeing chefs today continuing to tell new, elevated, fearless stories with Jamaican cuisine. ✨ The future of Caribbean food is already here.
