SKY SQR BOX HILL. The 19-storey development will contain almost 50,000sqm of build-to-rent accommodation by @local_residential. The first build-to-rent complex in the City of Box Hill as Victoria has quickly become the build-to-rent capital of Australia. The cranes are down, thanks to @icon_construction_ and all other parties contributing to the construction process, Sky Square is gearing up to open its doors to Box Hill as this incredible development makes great progress and is looking fantastic. Developed by @goldenagegroup SKY SQR is set to be a vibrant three-level food and retail precinct inspired by European food halls and Asian hawker centres. “SKY SQR will be Box Hill’s most contemporary cultural hub with a diverse mix of retailers,” Golden Age founder Jeff Xu said. This new development is right next door to @goldenagegroup’s trophy tower Sky One standing taller than any other building outside of Melbourne’s CBD with very popular @skyoneplaza in its podium. Jeff Xu said “Box Hill as a suburb has so much potential and capacity for growth and we identified this back in 2016 via Sky One.” Designed by @fenderkatsalidis the design for Sky Square retail precinct designed by @theovalpartnership maximises the public realm and the human experience at ground level, whilst minimising the visual weight of the two residential towers that sit above the podium. The podium is broken into a series of connected urban streets and laneways with a variety of tenancies. Externally, glazing enhances the streetscape activation while a well-defined distinction between public and private building forms is maintained.
