Here's another helpful tutorial showing simple steps to create a realistic textile material from our friends at @megosu! 1. Start by downloading a flat image of a textile you like. (Frank got his from the Danish textile brand Kvadrat.) 2. Create a new Plastic material and adjust the roughness by preference. 3. Add a Tri-Planar Texture, and connect the downloaded image to each coordinate. Scale and adjust the seam blend. 4. Connect the Tri-Planar to the Plastic material Diffuse, Specular and Bump Channel. 5. Add a Color Adjust node in both the diffuse and the specular channel, and adjust them accordingly. 6. Create a Fuzz Geometry node and connect it to the base material. 7. Adjust all the parameters, and remember to connect the TriPlanar map from the Diffuse channel to the Color Channel of the Fuzz node. 8. Now you can personalize the color based on your preference through the Color Adjust Node in the diffuse channel. @keyshot3d 2025 introduces these huge upgrades that will make lighting your scenes so much quicker! #ad The Planar light replicates real photography lighting, complete with controls to direct the beam angle. These replicate the “barn door” panels from the real world, and they’re super easy to adjust in Keyshot. Next up we have the Light Position tab, which lets you simply click your model wherever you want to place light. This is similar to placing light pins with the HDRI scene, but this time with physical lights in 3D space. “Highlight” makes sure the light angle will bounce right into view, and “Normal” will make the light plane perfectly offset from the surface you click. “Target” keeps the light in the same spot, but it looks wherever you’re clicking, and “Orbit” lets you drag the light around the model. Today @baptiste_grenon, the designer behind the project, shares RenderTips on how to use Keyshot’s Cutaway Material to expose its complex inner workings and intricate shapes, in collaboration with @keyshot3d Here’s a simple but powerful tip in KeyShot: use the Cutaway Material to create clean, non-destructive section cuts. Add a primitive shape (like a cube), assign the Cutaway Material to it, and position it where you want to slice. It works like a Boolean operation, but without altering your geometry. You can change the contact surface color, and even exclude specific objects from being affected — allowing you to build custom compositions easily. What is the biggest secret motion designers hide from you? It’s called – extended ease keyframes. Most people finish their keyframes like this. It stops after this motion. But your videos should never stop - it should be constantly moving. So what you should do is move the right keyframe slightly to the back, and click a new keyframe here… and move the right keyframe to the far right. And then go to the graph editor and adjust the handles, so there are no bouncing in the opposite direction. Now let’s compare. You can clearly see the motion continuing even after the object stops. This is what makes a truly smooth video by showing no stop through the whole frames. Now let’s go back to our type animation, you can see each type are constantly sliding without stopping, because each type are made with sliding keyframes.
