Ribber pt 3- Troubleshooting and Tips! If you want beautiful ribbed socks done in a day’s time, you’ll want a ribber for your D&B Sock Machine. Get ahead with some tips below. 🧶 Make sure the dial turns very smoothly, test it by holding the dial fin to turn it. There should be no wobble back and forth or your needles can get stuck and twist. 🧶 I use one weight, but it’s my heaviest one! The ribber needs weight to thrive, and my heaviest weight is reliable here. 🧶 Since it’s winter, the air may be drier if you are using your heaters. Higher static can lead to latches getting stuck in the closed position which causes us to lose stitches! Rub a lint catcher over needles to reduce latch static. 🧶 If there are any rough spots on the inside track of your tappet plate (the pink in this video) that can cause issues. Lightly sand rough area on underside of tappet plate with a 220 or 150 fine grit sandpaper, starting and finishing with the finer grit. So many ways to knit socks in the round, here's just two of the methods. I like using a long circular needle but a new method i've been trying lately is with the shorties.
