Should you use Duolingo to learn languages?🤔 Well, if you find the sentences in this video useful and feel like you’re genuinely learning the language by using the app, then yes. But I doubt that’s the case. The way I see it, Duolingo is more of a fun language game than a serious tool for language learning. It teaches you awkward sentences, it sometimes uses incorrect pronunciation and can be overly repetitive.😭 Instead of spending 15 minutes on Duolingo learning how to say, “my owl’s company’s employee is a toothbrush,” watch a 15-minute YouTube video in your target language to familiarize yourself with its sounds. Or, watch a movie in your target language with subtitles in the same language, translate 2-3 sentences using DeepL or ChatGPT, or listen to a famous song and translate it. Any of these options are more effective than spending 15, 30, or 45 minutes learning to say “I can’t hear you because I have cinnamon rolls in my ears” 🤐 But that’s only my opinion, what do you think? 💬 And of course, have an amazing day hehehe love u ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #duolingo #languages #learning #polyglot

I moved to Brazil, so I am currently learning Portuguese. and I’ve tried Duolingo many times but I just never felt like I was making real progress. It’s fun and colorful but when it comes to actually learning a language it can’t be considered a real tool. The phrases that you learn are insanely useless. Like “a cat ate a bird”.. sorry, what?.. Okay, you do learn new vocabulary. But why not learn it in real context from the beginning? So here is the list of the apps that became my daily helpers. I guess my favorite is Airlearn I combine it with YouTube lessons, some student books, and chat GPT for the best results Hope it helps 💓
