If you grew up in Scotland... You might remember a wee summer's day spent at the beach! ☀️🏖️🚶 The Scottish town of Largs is definitely a nostalgic place to so many of us, being an absolutely classic seaside experience.  You'll probably remember walking along all the seafront attractions, playing on the beach, getting dragged to Vikingar and of course guzzling down a 99 cone at Nardinis in the few minutes before it melts all over you. You can also take a ferry to Millport, the neighbouring island, but Largs itself definitely has more to offer than even I realised. If you head round the coast you'll find the Pencil Monument which commemorates the Battle of Largs, where the Scots defeated the Viking invaders in 1263. You can also make your way to Kelburn Castle, built in 1143, definitely one of the more funky Scottish castles in my opinion But what I was most excited about was to catch the sunset up at the Haylie Brae viewpoint for some panoramic views of Largs. It was a wee bit of a rush to get up there before the sun went down it was an absolute treat looking down at the wee town that I remember so fondly Another great place for Daily Walking in Scotland and please follow for more inspirational content. 📍 Largs ➡️ Cumbrae | Millport Day Trip Come with us to one of our favourite wee places in the world ~ Millport 💚 Just under an hour’s drive from Glasgow to Largs, and then it’s a quick, easy ferry over to the island (ferries go every 30 mins ⛴️ you don’t need to book tickets in advance. Once you’re off the ferry, turn left and follow the coastal road right round to Millport. Largs Beach is a nice pebble beach with views across to millport and bute. A pleasant traditional seafront promenade with plenty of seating, a small funfair and space for kids to play.
