(And benefitted my other lifts!) FULL TRAINING PLANS AVAILABLE @traindailyjlh 🔗 ✅ CABLE CRUNCHES Great before upper body days as they may help with thoracic stability and help you lock in better posture and bracing for your upper body lifts. Crunches help cue a better “rib down” positioning. This is a huge benefit, especially for pressing and pull movements like bench, overhead press, rows and pull-ups where you want to control rib flare and lower back arching. ✅ BACK SUPPORTED HANGING LEG RAISE Great before lower body days as this exercise can help improve pelvic positioning. (Let’s get rid of that huge anterior pelvic tilt before we squat, okay?!) A couple of sets of these can help increase range of motion for your lower abs and hip flexors which is great prep for exercises that require a full ROM from the lower body, like lunges or deep squats. ✅ WEIGHTED SIDE BEND These are great for overall body stability. Obliques (on your sides) are so important for lateral movement stability. This is called recomposition when you lower your body fat percentage, and gain lean muscle. This is why people can be the same height and weight and look completely different. When I stopped obsessing over the scale number, I saw the most progress in my journey. I was sick of feeling “puffy” all the time. I went YEARS thinking my body agreed with many things it didn’t. So what exactly is inflammation? In broad terms, inflammation is the body’s immune system’s response to fighting against something that may turn out to be harmful. However, while it’s not often a welcome condition, inflammation also lets us know that our immune system is doing its job. The number one thing I have done personally to lower inflammation is to be more aware of how my body reacts to foods and ingredients. I would never have extreme responses to food (pain, cramping, nauseous etc.) so I would continuously brush off my symptoms of feeling puffy/bloated/swollen. My biggest tip is actually thinking about how you FEEL after eating certain things. Be more aware, and take notes! I have realized when I eat gluten, the next day my face puffs up! (Although I have not cut out gluten 100% I do now limit it.) Dairy is also something I cut out. FYI: Gluten and dairy are the most common food intolerances! I stopped relying on quick grab and go items, and frozen pre cooked meals. Those are higher in sodium. Yes - I believe in balance with nutrition - but I make it a priority to eat a lot of whole foods throughout my day. Another thing that has helped me A LOT is I reduced alcohol consumption I was a social drinker - and still am. BUT, I made a commitment to say no to just a casual drink during the week. Even ONE glass would cause inflammation - so I reduced consumption. Along with that I’ve been birth control free (I’ve been off for 2.5 years) My body is now free of extra hormones. YES - with lowering inflammation I have lost weight too. But, it’s not just the weight that has made the difference in my face. When I don’t prioritize these things - my face still puffs up/has a response. And the best thing about prioritizing lowering inflammation is that I FEEEEEL so much better. #inflammation #facetransformation #transform #faceinflammation #leanout #transform #reduceinflammation
