They had no idea how to help me learn to do certain tasks 🤣 but I ended up feeling so supported by them: instead of assuming I would do everything left-handed, they’d give me options or remind me to try both hands, upside-down, backwards, everything until I found a way that worked. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They were great at just letting me find my own path and that’s always my best tip to parents raising lefties. ✂️A note about scissors, since this always comes up: I use right-handed scissors in my right hand. Many lefties do. I did this because the world doesn’t have left-handed scissors for me to use and I wanted to be able to cut things at school, in an office, at a friend’s house without having to BYO scissors for my entire life. Some lefties use right handed scissors in their left hand. Some stick with left scissors in their left hand. Provide your child with options.
