Lingdum Monastery, also widely known as Ranka Monastery (or Pal Zurmang Kagyud Monastery), is one of the most aesthetically stunning and serene spiritual centers in East Sikkim. Ranka Monastery, also known as Lingdum Monastery, is a beautiful Buddhist monastery nestled in the serene hills of East Sikkim, around 20 km from Gangtok. It belongs to the Zurmang Kagyud lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and is a relatively new monastery, built in the 1990s. Despite its modern construction, it embodies traditional Tibetan architectural styles and exudes spiritual calm. Surrounded by dense forested hills and overlooking sweeping mountain views, Ranka Monastery is both a place of worship and a center for monastic training.
