🍁100+ yr old Collectors Japanese Maple🍁 Based on the owner’s story, we’re guessing this tree may have been imported in the 1940’s, before Japanese Maples were really seen in our country! 🍁There’s no way to know for sure but the original property owner was a horticulturalist and may have asked her son or husband to bring her this tree from overseas at the turn of the Century, after WWI or the Second World War (?). I love to imagine it making the trip from Europe to thrill its new owner and every friend who saw it in WA since there were very few Japanese Maples in the States until the 1950’s. Maybe it was just a twig in a duffle bag when it arrived in the USA! 🍁One of the most amazing things about this tree is that it’s almost pristine and has never been pruned inappropriately or harshly! When I saw it for the estimate I couldn’t stop petting it with amazement and joy. I seriously almost cried!
