❓WHY are girls so mean? ❓Why do some resort to gossip, exclusion, name-calling, or social maniplation? ❗️Jealousy and power are the two most obvious and common explanations, but there are three more factors that drive the meanness we call Relational Aggressions. 1️⃣ A desire to belong - girls want to feel a sense of connection and belonging and when that desire feels threatened some will react through acts of RA. 2️⃣ An underdeveloped EQ- Teens do not yet know how to process or make sense of complicated feelings like jealousy, insecuirty, or embarassment. Without the skills to express those feelings in healthy ways, they will often go to something that feels safer or easier- it’s easier to give the silent treatment than admit to feeling hurt. It’s easier to name-call than admit to being threatened. 3️⃣ Cultural pressures and expectations- From social media to school, the pressure to be pretty enough, popular enough, successful enough can lead to competition and comparison. Relational Aggression thrives in that kind of environment because girls see each other as rivals rather than allies. ✨If you’re looking for more insight into girl friendships and how to support your daughter through complicated social challenges, visit my blog at InspireBalance.com or send me a DM with your questions. #meangirls #relationalaggression #friendships

Hey everyone, Johnny here to explain. This meme humorously explores the often-discussed personality traits of firstborn children by highlighting a deeper, more relatable truth behind their so-called “meanness.” The first tweet by Kgali Molefe claims that firstborns are always the meanest, a statement that plays into a common stereotype. However, the witty response by Musa adds context and emotional depth, explaining that firstborns tend to be mean because they are essentially forced into a quasi-parental role at a young age—caring for younger siblings and taking on responsibilities that they never asked for. Musa’s point, “we became parents of children we didn’t make,” expresses the frustration and premature maturity that many eldest children experience, as they often have to help raise their siblings while still being children themselves. The punchline, “So yeah we’re very angry,” is both funny and poignant, acknowledging the simmering resentment that can result from being burdened too early in life. Together, the two tweets turn a stereotype into a reflection on family dynamics and childhood responsibilities, all while using humor to deliver a bit of social commentary. “The Guest House” by Rumi read by Helena Bonham Carter ✨ This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. Some friendships don’t hurt all the time. And that’s what makes them so hard to leave. Your child isn’t dealing with constant meanness. They’re dealing with confusion. 🦁 Here’s what’s happening…. One good day makes them doubt the bad one. One apology makes them stay. One laugh makes them hope. So instead of thinking, “this doesn’t feel right”, they start thinking: 😕 “Maybe I’m overreacting.” 😕 “Maybe I just need to try harder.” 😕 “Maybe today will be different.” They don’t realise they’re stuck in a cycle — they just feel unsettled, loyal, and tired. This isn’t drama. And it’s not weakness. It’s what happens when kindness shows up just often enough to keep hope alive. ✨ My program the **Fight Back Formula** was created for your child when they’re caught in this exact loop — when the friendship isn’t always bad, but never really feels safe. 👉 Comment **PROGRAM** and I’ll send you the details. #bullying #kids #toxicfriends #friendship #meangirls

Gotta shake the tree every month and see what falls out 🤷 For real though, I do consider it a duty to deter men from treating my comments like a place to get free cookies and attention from women. The periodic meanness is a filtration system that scares off men who are here to treat the place like a buffet, and it gets results. ***VIDEO TRANSCRIPT*** (A woman with dark curly hair, wearing a black hat, sheer black knitted sweater, gold nose ring and layered gold necklaces puts on sunglasses and a brown scarf.) Let’s stop confusing meanness with strength. Our daughters should be taught that real strength sounds like respect, empathy, and self-control.
