🧫🔬 Same fungus, two different outcomes. 🦠 Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA): a classic medium, rich in glucose and peptone. 📈 Growth here is exuberant, with little restriction — the fungus shows its full potential, forming robust and expansive colonies. 🦠 DRBC (Dichloran Rose-Bengal Chloramphenicol Agar): selective and differential. ⚖️ Dichloran limits colony diameter, Rose-Bengal restricts excessive spreading, and chloramphenicol inhibits bacterial competitors. Result? Smaller, well-defined colonies, making counting and differentiation much easier. ✨ The same species, but with two completely different “personalities” revealed by the culture medium.
