While testing and porting @colonel_panic_hacks “Flock-You” firmware to other esp32s3 devices I needed a way to test them and ensure they were in fact signaling the detection of a camera. Not wanting to have to drive around until I found a physical camera just for testing, I took the detection criteria in his firmware and used it to create fake BLE packets that can be sent using the Hackrf Portapack saving me time/gas/having to actually leave my house. I will link a github of these test files and also the platformio.ini and main.cpp required to flash a DNkey with the flock detection firmware. I will however warn the DNkey is not ideal as the antenna is tiny and you would have to be almost standing on top of a camera for it to work… but it does work.
