Always grateful for the technological advances I’ve seen in my lifetime! When I was a kid, I used very basic mechanical knees, both for safety and cost efficiency. These are still used depending on the situation, but I personally love the advancements in Microprocessor knees, which tend to allow for a higher level of activity. Excited to see what the future holds!

Have you heard of the prosthetic “knee” that’s motorized?? This @ossur power knee has both a computer & a motor in it Benefits I noticed in my trial: 🖤 helped me stand up! Gives a big boost upward with the motor to get you upright. 🖤 reduced fatigue. Mimics the walking gait on its own, without me having to use my energy to do so 🖤 improved my posture. With the motorized knee I could walk with a more “normal” upright walking gait 🖤 will help decrease my pain in my lower back (by not hunching over while walking). Protects my shoulders from overuse. Increase endurance by making the walking gait easier Amazed by the current technology used in prosthetics these days… helping people like me overcome challenges as a #bilateralamputee & #paraplegic
