Mineral stained sandstone and the reverse image. The spot was caused by another stone which sat on top on this one and over time stained the stone. The minerals leeched through and the reverse side is also stained but without sunlight the colors are much different! BREAKING: Earlier today, Mount Etna, located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, erupted forcing people in the vicinity to flee. Video footage shared on social media showed lava and ash emissions during the eruption. Authorities have not yet issued formal evacuation orders, but the situation is being closely monitored. Established in 1968, Mount Etna DOC is home to around 441 wineries. While vineyards don’t grow on the summit, the Etna DOC includes vineyards at very high altitudes, some of the highest in Italy. The extreme conditions here contribute to the freshness, minerality, and complexity of Etna wines.
