That’s all for setup. ⸻ ✈️ HOW TO USE IT WHEN YOU LAND Once your plane touches down in the U.S.: 1. Turn on your data/WiFi 2. Open the MPC app 3. Tap “New Trip.” 4. Select your airport + airline 5. Answer the standard customs questions (super short) 6. Submit 7. The app will give you a QR code 8. Follow the signs for “Mobile Passport Control” at immigration 9. Show the officer your QR code 10. You walk straight through. No long lines. No stress. ⸻ 💡 WHY I AM TELLING YOU THIS Because I love my diaspora people. And because I am tired of watching us queue for 45 minutes when the MPC line is EMPTY. It’s free, it’s easy, and it makes your entry into the U.S. so smooth.

Mobile Passport Control is an incredible FREE way to speed through customs. Comment CUSTOMS and I’ll send you a link to the page where you can find all the information. I’m noticing a lot of messages are bouncing back due to recipient privacy settings. Make sure to follow my account before commenting so u actually get the link :) Basically, when you land ( or up to 4 hours prior ) you open the app, scan your passport, take a selfie, and answer some questions regarding your declarations. This is a government app, so no worries about your personal information being in the hands of an entity that doesn’t already have it. When you land, you will generally see multiple lines, from regular customs, Global Entry, and also MPC. This allows you to enter the generally empty MPC lane which had ZERO people in it yesterday, compared to the 100 in Global Entry. And you dont wanna KNOW how many people were in the regular line… Lerrrrd. You can process up to 12 people in a single submission, making this a fantastic option for families, especially if you dont want to pay the 100 bucks for everyone to get their own Global Entry (tho I still suggest having Global Entry as well, as that gets you TSA precheck for your departure) MPC is currently available at 61 sites including 37 US airports and 4 seaports. 🚨UPDATE - Global Entry reopens today, March 11th!🚨 With Global Entry suspended, a lot of travelers are panicking right now. But there’s another option worth looking into: Mobile Passport Control. This is an official app created by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Here’s how it works: ➡️ Before your return flight, download the MPC app and scan your passport to get started. ➡️ Up to 4 hours before landing or immediately after landing take a self-photo and answer a few questions in the app about your arrival and declarations. Your submission is active for 4 hours. ➡️ Submitting these details through the app ahead of time speeds up the interaction with the CBP Officer. ➡️ If you are traveling with a group, you can add up to 12 people to a submission from one device. ➡️ Once you are in the customs arrival area, take out your passport and enter the designated MPC line (marked with signage) to finalize your inspection with a CBP officer. 📌One thing to note: MPC is available at 37 U.S. International airports. With Global Entry being shut down, you still have options. Mobile Passport Control is a completely free alternative government program that helps you get thru customs faster. Comment MOBILE For the link! Just download the app from the App Store, scan you passport, and answer the questions. You can process up to 12 people in a single application. And you can do this right when u land up to 4 hours before. This will allow you to get in the much shorter MPC line. Instead of the regular line, which is even LONGER currently. This isn’t a new travel hack- a lot of travelers already know about Mobile Passport Control and have been using it for years. But in my experience, there are two groups of people who don’t always think about it. 1️⃣The first are people like me who normally use Global Entry. If you have it, Mobile Passport Control is mostly redundant, so it’s easy to forget it exists. 2️⃣The second group are travelers who just haven’t heard of it. If you fall into that second category, it’s worth knowing about. The Mobile Passport Control app is free, requires far fewer logistical hoops than Global Entry, and can give you access to a shorter customs line when returning to the U.S. from an international trip. You submit your return info and a quick selfie in the app once you land and head to the MPC line. It won’t always be as fast as Global Entry, and it depends on the airport, but it can significantly reduce one of the bigger headaches of international travel. I actually ended up using it for the first time this weekend coming back from Tokyo because Global Entry was suspended while I was away. Normally I build my flight connections assuming I’ll have Global Entry - had I known that wouldn’t be the case, I would have padded my layover a bit more.
