We're living in an era where the @nonamebrands becomes an actual store! By pure coincidence, I stumbled upon Canada's very first No Name store last week when I was visiting family in Windsor. @loblawson is currently piloting this new ultra-discount No Name store that will be up to 20% less than the regular retail price on a comparable product at any of the four main discount grocers including their very own @nofrillsca. Two thirds of items will be under $5. To keep the costs as low as possible there is no refrigeration in these stores, so that means one sacrifice is you can't buy things like milk, eggs, or fresh meat here. Though they do have a small section of frozen foods. Apparently this will be the first of three stores set to open next month with the second location in St. Catherine's and the third location in Brockville.
